For our local group, I added a new character chit to add an extra element to our sessions.
So, without further ado, I introduce you to:
Sandra
In classic serial adventure style, she is a distraction to any hunting expedition and causes no end of trouble.
You can not choose to fire her once she is drawn. She will stay with your group until one of the following conditions are met:
1 - You make a full circuit, and return to port with her. She is then automatically returned to the hunter pool.
2 - If you land on the same square as another player, each player rolls a d6. The person who currently has Sandra adds one to their roll. The high roller inherits her into their team.
She consumes supplies the same as any other white hunter and must always be the first hunter supplied. You will have to eat any captured animals if you are out of supplies. If you have no supplies, she will still remain with you.
During a hunt, the player to your left chooses where to place Sandra. This occurs after you have placed all your other hunters, but prior to the rolls. Alternatively, if there is an killer animal, she will always be on the most powerful killer animal. Subtract two from the total hunter value against the animal she is on. Only if she is your last hunter, can she be targetted by a killer animal. If this happens, roll two dice and subtract that from your score, then return her to the hunter pool.
If she is lost in the quicksand, another hunter will sacrifice themselves to save her (draw and discard a different random hunter). If she is your last hunter, she will be lost and returned to the pool. Roll two dice and subtract that from your score.
She will not be lost in The Lost City. But, if she is your only remaining hunter when you land on the city, you will not gain a Relic marker.
So, what's the payoff of keeping her around?
After making it back to either port, total the roll of four dice and add that to your score. Then return her to the hunter pool.
Comments/suggestions welcome.
