These pieces were designed to give players another level to their game grid. This sheet features a 4x4x1 inch platform and a 2x4 inch straight piece that can interlock with each other.
This is a definite improvement over using a plain table top.
I wonder if printing a simple 7x10 grid multiple times to make a board would be worth it? I don't imagine your grayscale grid would use an excessive amount of ink . . .
Multiple 7x10 grids put together would work wonderfully for a game board. You could even tape it together in an accordion method so it would ultimately all fold up to be the size of a single 7x10 sheet.
I was hoping you wouldn't mind me using your design for the sides of the tile. I wanted to keep it as true to style as possible to insure it "fit" with the game. I've also been reworking this file to be a little more modular. I'll probably upload that tonight so I can get it out there. It's basically a revised version of this that I think would be more useful for terrain.
I was also thinking of making a few special rules that a person could use with the raised tiles for shooting. Something like a -1 penalty for every inch higher/lower than the attacker and a -1 within every 10cm of distance for range of the attacker.
In short, If you're firing at someone that is on a single tile that is 16cm away for range then you would suffer a -3 penalty to your accuracy roll. (-1 for being 1 inch higher than you and -2 for being over 10cm away.)
I'm going to tinker with this a bit and see if it's workable. It's just something that I've had floating around my head all day.
