The card deck doesn't appear to be included in this PDF.

Also, there are a couple of all-black pages. Is there a reason for them being in there?

Hi, heruca.

The file was too big with the cards to be uploaded all at once; I have been waiting for them to approve it so I could upload the cards separately. Looks like you beat me to downloading it before I checked my messages today. I'll be putting the cards up shortly.

The black pages are explained under the print instructions in the section "What's Inside," but basically, they are to print on the back side of the Cellar and Loose Pieces to give them a black back. This is completely optional of course, but I think it gives the pieces a more finished look, especially when laminated.

I hope you enjoy the pieces.

Thanks,
James (Flytrap)

EDIT: The cards have been uploaded and are awaiting approvals. Sorry to make you wait more, but this is how I have to do it because of the package size. As soon as they are approved, they will appear on this page for download. Cards are now available. Enjoy!

This whole thing looks great! I am looking forward to printing everything out and making my own set!

One question I have is, on the pictures you posted it looks like your dungeon map is one sheet. Did you combine the parts of the map and then take it to a printer and get printed and laminated big? The only board I have been able to find was bundled with your ver 1.2, and it comes in 6 pieces, I think...

The same goes for the other 3 boards. They are all in piexes, and I am trying to figure out the best way to assemble them, or to get them printed.

Also, how did you attach the Zombie Plague backs to the card fronts? I have been cutting everything with scissors, but it doesn't seem like that will be precise enough to be able to glue the fronts and backs together like that. Or did you print on both sides, then cut once? Or connect the 2 sheets before cutting, then cut both?

Sorry for all the questions, just want to get this right!

Hi, again, Wendell!

Thank you so much for your comments. I am very glad that you like the set and plan on using it. Let me try to tackle your questions.

1) I sent a PM to Kwanchai, the map's designer, and he supplied me with the full map image. I then made my edits over the top in GIMP (free and powerful image editor) and took it to Staples where they printed it in large format and laminated it.

Kwanchai has asked that other users not distribute his works for him, so until he says otherwise, you will have to get it from him directly out of respect for those wishes. Once you have it, I could provide you with my overlay (car, search squares, and border), and you could combine them yourself before printing if you like.

2) For the cards, I took the pdf to a local print shop that does all of my printing (except the board), and they printed them out front-and-back on 110 lb glossy cardstock, so I did not assemble them in pieces. I know lots of people do it that way, but they shuffle and wear well, so I have not looked into doing that. The backs are made without guidelines on them so you don't have to line them up perfectly to get good results, but I don't know much about how to make cards in layers.

I also answered your other post in the Official Thread for my release. I encourage you or anyone else with questions, comments or suggestions to post them in that thread because I am more likely to see them there. I already have about 8 minor changes for revision 1.1, but I would like to get to at least 10 or so before going to the trouble of publishing them, so the more feedback the better!

Take care,
James (Flytrap)
