The Resistance Notes Sheet v1.2.pdf (33 KB) (Log in or Register to download.)
A way to record what happens every turn. Sometimes it's useful to look back and deduce information this way. Version 1.2

Thanks to George Leach (BGG user: Jugular) for emailing me his version 1.1 which reformatted the file to make better use of the space. I then tweaked his version some more to come up with this version 1.2.

If you'd like the source excel file, send me a geekmail with your email address and I'll email it to you.

I was trying to figure out what 'Vote #1' and 'Vote #2' were.

Vote #1 is the proposal vote (approve/reject)
Vote #2 is the mission execution (support/sabotage)

I have used a similar spreadsheet to record PBF games:

Here's a sample:

Note - I wouldn't support this level of tracking in a F2F game, unless it were entirely public data for everyone to view.

Hopefully the newly uploaded version 1.2 will be less confusing. Please feel free to make suggestions.

The only other deduction game I've played is Clue, but when I play that, I take detailed notes like those assisted with this Notes Sheet. I haven't tried using this Notes Sheet during an actual game of The Resistance yet though. So we'll see how it goes...

I tried taking note once in the attempt to help newer player to understand how the game goes and what people (spy or resistance) do in certain situation.

But I am a horrible multitasker and note taking completely destroy my train of thought throughout the game. Hence I gave up on the idea.

Definite "A" for effort, I like what you did here. Some people might find it useful, others not so much. I think it's a great idea though.

I made my own, based off the one for notetaking online. It's easier, I think, to write names and then all x's afterwards... also easier to see at a glance who's voting for a mission they're not on, or no to one they are on. But I like the idea here, too.

I played this game without the official game but simply by using a deck of cards, where I used face cards (jack, queen, king, ace) for supporting a mission and non-face cards for failing a mission. That way you can just leave the votes on the table and everyone can easily see previous votes making it very easy.
I used the thumbs system for voting on teams though so not everony clearly remembered those making it harder to deduce correctly what everyone did. Less information usage makes it harder to identify the spies I guess and thus makes it easier for them, which was in line with our results (though limited data). Out of 4 games the resistance won once.

I guess these kind of tools can be very handy if the group is not as strong analytically and has trouble remembering some stuff. It's best if the group just remembers all the votes though which is not too hard in a 5 player game, with more players it can get harder though so this tool might help.

There are way to many turns here.
5 missions x 5 possible mission votes = 25 turns.
