Soviet-LateModel-T34-Cards_For-BBG-Upload_v-1.xls (67 KB) (Log in or Register to download.)
I was reading a book about Soviet tank crews and started to wonder how hard it would be to add new units to "Patton's Best". The answer turned out to be "not as bad as I feared" although this is very much a work in progress. Included are cards for a T-34/76 Model 1943 and a T-34/85 Model 1944 as well as the necessary rules & tables to play with them. My knowledge of the T-34 is limited to seeing museum pieces & reading books, so I tried to list my assumptions as much as possible. Nothing seems too unreasonable, I hope. Comments and suggestions are more than welcome. I could certainly use the help...

On a side note, I wasn't sure whether including top and profile images of the tank here would violate any copyrights so my cards include only shaded place holders instead of images similar to the game cards. I found appropriate images, very easily on both Google & Bing image searches so hopefully this won't be a problem for anyone to do on their own. When I tried it myself, I got pretty good looking images inserted into the spreadsheet with only a minute or two of actual work. ...and if I'm worrying over nothing, I can upload a file with images later.

Also, feel free to use my Excel sheet format to make new tanks if you're so inclined. It's not nearly as imposing as it first appears (especially if you take as many liberties as I probably did) :)

Incidentally, in case you haven't seen, in this thread ( http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/673516/pattons-best-coun...) someone noted a magazine which also published Soviet vehicles & a campaign for the First Guards Tank Corp ( http://www.battlesmagazine.com/eshop/doc/6/BATTLES6_Panov-sB...). It figures that shortly after I made a couple T-34's that someone else would independently do the same thing, but such is life. Anyway, figured I should share for what it's worth and post it all in the same spot so it's easy to find.

Enjoy.

Thanks, Jeffrey. Would it be possible for you to also post your file as a PDF?
