I chose them as they're the only one's I could find that were embroidered & thanks I didn't know they were Japanese. They did have the translation beside them so I picked ones I liked. In the new revised rule book on the back page I've listed the meanings.
I was just told that these characters are actually more likely Chinese ("truth" and "double happiness" are probably not used in Japanese), which reassures me, because the meanings you listed in the rules don't match for the few characters I know.
