Excellent work. I've been meaning to dust this game off, after playing it throughout my childhood.

One of the ideas I've been tossing around (haven't tried it yet) is to compare a pitcher's OBA to the batter's AVG for use of the batting chart. If splits are available (v. left/right), I think that could add some variety as well.

The only thing missing once pitchers are factored into at-bats is 'small ball'. This chart takes care of stolen bases, and bunt rules seem like they'd be easy enough to fudge. It pretty much just leaves baserunning with regard to double plays and fielder's choice before we'd be looking at a game with some strategic value.

Thanks for looking.

I figured bunting was (almost) covered by results like "6: Ground ball to xxx ... runners advance"

I've looked at DPs. They ARE needed in the game. Could be as simple as "Each non K out has 2/36 (or whatever) chance of being DP if conditions permit." Granted, some teams DP duos are better than others (just saw article on that in cnn-si)

We use BCAS game for Fantasy Team H-t-H match ups. We don't use pitchers in our league. So, I've tried to keep pitchers out of the equations: R vs L, ground vs fly ball pitchers and your OBA vs AVG idea. All are very important, but not the way we play.
