Thanks - and a small Great list. Would it be easy to convert to an Excel spreadsheet?

It is an excel spreadsheet. I uploaded as a PDF since not everyone has MS Office 2007. Would folks prefer excel for the next version?

I printed it out and it didn't come with the "box lines." I may not be doing something right. Please don't make changes based on my request.

It would be nice to have either option. With Excel, someone could sort the list by whatever they found relevant.

It might be best to break out "players" into a min and max instead of one range, so it can be sorted on that aspect.

For the PDF, I'd color every other line with a light grey background so it's easier to read if you're viewing it on paper.

Coloring would do the trick.

Ok, I'll add every-other greybar, and also max and min columns, and excel and pdf versions. Any interest in playing time estimate as a column? Anything else you all can think of?

I've uploaded an improved PDF. I tried uploading an .xlsx Excel 2007 sheet, and the admins say "We're sorry that we couldn't use the recent file that you uploaded, and it was removed it from the system.
Reason: The file was in an invalid or esoteric format and couldn't be opened. Please try uploading in PDF or Word Document format."

*sigh* shake

Perfect. One of the nice things about BGG and it's fantastic contributors is that I have few computer skills, but I do know how to click "print."

Thank you.

I've heard this happening before with the new Excel format. Try using the old xls format and it should get through...

Success! It's funny how with two files that are essentially the same one will get through and the other won't. I'm not sure what the admins have against the new excel format...

I think it's because anyone with nearly any excel version can open .xls but they cannot open .xslx. Given that excel has barely changed for the average user over the past 3 iterations why encourage Microsoft's gouging?

Because they gave us "countifs".

Except that docx and xlsx are XML files. Ultimately, it's an open format.

Although lots of apps could open the old formats, Microsoft did not have a public spec for them.

the .xlsx and .docx formats are actually .zip files containing multiple xml files in the 'open' format which is more open, but still has some small amount of embedded binary stuff in the spec that is basically not....

Plus, up to Excel 2003, a spreadsheet was limited to 65,536 rows by 256 columns. In 2007, you can use 1,048,576 rows by 16,384 columns...

Aw, we were just being pedantic. I'd say you were right earlier... for the average user, it hasn't changed much. Only reason I use/have it is that work buys it for me.
