This probability table allows one to make a more informed decision as to what to commit in a fire group with multiple participants. It provides a percentile probability of possible outcomes, i.e. KIA, Break, Some Effect and No Effect.
Locate the firepower factor printed in "red" in the sub-table and refer to the appropriate modifier column which is listed as a minus, or a plus number or zero. On the left side of the main table is the Morale Level (ML) column of the targeted units. Cross-index this with the appropriate modifier column. Finally, refer to the sub-rows of the ML to see the probabilities of Break, Some Effect, and No Effect. Note the KIA row is not associated with the ML column.
The table does not provide a display of probability regarding an infantry target stacked with a leader and the attending outcomes. But there are work arounds.
Just remember to multiply one probability (P) with another. Example: P1 x P2 = P3 or
72% x 12% = 9% or 0.72 x 0.12 = 0.09
