StringRailwayEnglish.pdf (53 KB) (Log in or Register to download.)
This is a translation I made of the original Japanese rules for String Railway Transport. I tested the rules several times and made some tweaks based on the plays and the videos on the BGG game page. Hopefully, they will someday be replaced with a real (official) translation.

It makes sense to have the cost of crossing a mountain string to be the same as crossing a railroad string - that's how it is in String Railway.

So there are no limitations where strings can be placed, as long as they go from station to station? Since there are no home stations for players, I suppose you can start anywhere.

"For example, a red cube on the red city station must be moved elsewhere before returning to the red city." Can I move a red cube from red station to the next station, then return it back to earn it on the same turn?

In order to get the long-distance bonuses, does one have to move the cube during one turn, or can it be moved over several turns? I'd guess it has to happen during one turn, as remembering the status over several rounds would be painful.

Thanks a lot for the translation, I was expecting English rules in the box based on String Railway.

To answer some of the questions:
To answer some of the above...

I got the no limitations from the video, in one of the segments, it is quite clear that several players' strings do not all connect into a single network. We played that you can start anywhere.

In this case, we played that you couldn't reuse a route (as in:

RED OTHER

red to other to red over one string, but that:

RED

Where are you sourcing the game from? I haven't been able to locate it.

Peter, is your response cut in the middle of something? Anyway, I do get the point, I guess.

Doug, I bought mine from Banesto game store in Japan. They don't have it listed in their online store, but I sent them some emails and they were able to get me the four copies I wanted.

Thanks Mikko - I emailed them a month or so back, with no reply. I'll try again.
