Expansion Protocols.pdf (1.39 MB) (Log in or Register to download.)
Balancing rules (for the N.O. tilt) via added realism (Shore Guns) which also add some additional WWII elements (Elite Infantry, Fighter Escort/Interceptors, Air Bases, Victory city prod., the A-Bomb). Except for the first three rules (Gears of War, Anti-ship guns, and Communist China), the rules are from various editions of A&A (from Nova to the present global setup) with slight modifications to better meld with AA50th. Oh - and some feedback and results while using these rules would be nice...

The variant rules are very interesting. Particularly the "Air Bases". thumbsup

However, both in "Gears of War" and "Atomic Warfare" you mentioned that each technology chart has 4 advancement areas. Aren't there 6 areas in each chart?

Yes - my apologies as to the confusion. Refer to: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/684534/axis-allies-annive...

I've divided the two charts into four areas (look at the photo in its largest size). The bottom two are not visible in the photo, Radar goes under naval tech. (since that's how it was discovered, the idea of sonar in the air) And Warbonds under infrastructure (I think of the infrastructure area as not only the enemy's infrastructure but your own as well). I can try to find the file with this chart if you like and post it... it fits nicely into the lid of each nation...

Here's some other photos of my minis - it will give you a better idea as to some of the other components I use in conjunction with the expansion rules...

Later edit: I've since uploaded the tech. chart that my expansion rules refer to...

Oh - and if you do decide to print out the chart and place them into the lids, I actually took one research token and put it on the bottom right corner of each tech. area and did a color photocopy of the printed out charts. And then cut out and glued the copy into the lids. It makes it abundantly clear where the current researcher(s) should be placed. Ya dig?

And btw, I cannot claim 'Air Bases' as my own invention, it is tossed around amongst many house rules. In fact, several (but not all) of my expansion rules are gleaned from other house rules or ones from different editions of A&A, but I've found these and with some modifications, perfect to act as balancers for some (slight) imbalances in the anniversary edition (in my opinion, still the best edition). cool

Any of the over 50 people who downloaded these rules... have any feedback to offer? How'd they work in your games? What ones did you use?
