Napoleon's Triumph Unit Differences.pdf (18 KB) (Log in or Register to download.)
One of the most challenging things about learning the game is learning all the unit differences since they are sprinkled throughout the rules with little to no call-out. I've tried to collect all the differences and identify them as advantages (in green) or disadvantages/restrictions (in red) organized by unit type by section of the rules. Even if this doesn't help during play, it certainly helps the newbie understand all the strengths and weaknesses of each type. Please GM me or leave comments with corrections or potential clarifications.

At a glance, I don't see any correction or clarifications about the content.

I do have two less relevant comments about the design, though

1. The green feels like it should be greener so it isn't overwhelmed by the red.

2. It would awesome if the information/sizing could somehow be condensed down so it all fits on a single page. Right now it works double sided but having it all on a single page for "at a glance" would be great.

The number of special cases for artillery reinforce my belief that they add too much complexity to the game for what they return in fun Crazy to see them listed out like that.

The NT Rules Digest has a similar "unit specific breakdown of rules" but it isn't in tabular format. You might want to look it over for ideas and/or fact-checking.

Thanks for the feedback. I thought I had looked at all the aids but somehow that one eluded me. I haven't looked it over carefully yet, but, assuming it is correct, it has a lot of good info (including the kind that I was trying to get at).

I might try and reconfigure mine to get on one page to make it worth something. And I'll label the heavy calvalry properly - not 'guard cavalry'. blush

Artillery can not lead a defense from reserve !

- A unit in reserve with a strength of one
cannot be named a leading unit.

thanks!

I thought I had corrected that one. I saw it rereading the FAQ the other day. Must have been after I submitted.
