These are sized for perfect-fit sleeved cards. I left the top flap off to prevent crumpling the sleeves.

Fixed the typo noted below in V2!

Many thanks, Holmes!

One question: The box on the last page is labeled with 'Tactics'. It should therefore be labeled with 'Units', right?

EDIT: I've submitted a new file with the typo corrected. Here's a pasteup you can use if you've already printed out the incorrect file: http://www.barnaclepress.com/Games/MageKnightPasteup.pdf

Could you mention how many cards are in the game, or at least how many and what size sleeve packages were needed? My FLGS is kind of far, and I'd like to get them at the same time.

I used the sleeves pictured below: KMC Full Sized "Perfect Size" Sleeves.

There are between 200 and 250 cards in the game; I used three packs with many left over from the third pack.

Get the MDG-7077 sleeves. Very good.
Dont get the MDG-7041 sleeves. Very bad quality, I got all mine replaced as they were unusable and stuck together like glue.
Apparently this was a 'bad batch', but 3 other people I know had the same issue, and the sleeves got thrown away.

Really? I only ordered the 7077 because the 7041 were not in stock. They are twice as expensive because the 7077 are the premium line and come in 50 packs (and the 7041 are the regular ones in 100 packs). So I was planning to buy some more 7041 as soon as they are available again. Maybe I should invest some more money to get the expensive ones?!

What paper weight did you print this on? Standard printer paper feels too flimsy for me.

Hmm, I used FFG standard sleeves which say they are 88mm wide---but my cards don't fit. I suspect the guy at Staples messed up, maybe he was zoomed in a bit?

Er, they are 67mm wide, versus 64mm on the perfect size. Damn.

Yeah ok I found the reason, problem seems to be with Google chrome explorer same happens to many people here in this site using Chrome surprise
So with firefox, and IE, worked fine.

Thanks for the effort!

By the way, small world, I also purchased those sleeves online:

And was worried they may be just to tigth for the MK cards, but since you confirm they worked just fine...well then double the thanks!

Can't wait to try this.

Will this work with the Mayday premium green label (MDG-7077)?

The outer dimensions of these appear to be 65 mm x 90 mm

I haven't fully assembled these yet but the measurements of these printouts seem to pretty close to that.

I ask as I've tried making one tuckbox myself and added 2 mm to the aforementioned sleeve dimensions to ensure it wouldn't be too tight.

As a follow up I can sadly confirm that these tuckboxes do NOT work with MDG-7077. shake

The perfect size above maybe but the Mayday games sleeves based on my post above is 1 mm larger.

The sleeved cards DO fit but are just too snug and it's difficult to remove the cards. I'd be reluctant to use this for fear of damaging them. This is using card-stock for the boxes BTW.

Can I suggest Holmes for a revised version just 2mm larger?

They really are beautiful tuckboxes - wish I could use them!

Great boxes by the way. Makes it look not so much like a trash heap of plastic in my box.

Just to chime in here - Dragon Shields do NOT fit, which is a tragedy, since the boxes are beautiful.

It looks like they are just a few mm too small, maybe even 2-3mm.

If you did whip up a slightly larger version of these boxes, it would be fantastic if you could post that file here.

Thanks!

New to tuck boxes: how much does the lack of top flap impact the cards staying in?

Someone made horizontal tuckboxes for BSG to protect against damaging sleeves. Possible solution here.

Depends on the tolerances of the cards to the tuckbox.

If it's loose it slips out naturally.

Personally I prefer this design - with the flaps my boxes always look odd. And if you don't cut it juuuuust right the flap won't stay closed anyway. angry

It's just something to keep the cards from scattering about the box during transportation anyway - it's not as if you are tossing these about or are likely to pick them up upside down.

By chance have you designed the tuckboxes for bit larger sleeves? I'm waiting for my preorder to come in and have ordered FFG sleeves just wondering if I need to change my order to the perfect fits instead?

Thanks for the awesome work.

The FFG Silver sleeves are way too big - they are even larger than the Dragon Shields.

Not quite keen on the idea of changing my sleeve preference to fit a tuckbox. If the files aren't updated by the time my order gets in, I'm going to try my hand at tweaking the files to fit the Dragon Shields.

And perhaps try a set with a sideways flap to see if I like that, too.

I've submitted the resized boxes; it's in the hands of the GeekGods, now. I don't have the kinds of sleeves y'all are asking after, but I worked with SaMatra to adjust these, so I hope that they'll be acceptable. I'm sure you'll let me know early and often if'n they ain't.
