I rewrote the rules for Mousquetaires du Roy. There are no images, but there is a lot of text. Using this document in conjunction with the manuals and setup sheet that come with the game will hopefully make it much easier to learn.

Thanks a lot for this.

I have to admit that I have read the manual several times in order to understand everything. All is there, but it is really difficult to find some details when you have a question...

That rewrite is one of the most impressive things I have ever seen on this site.

There's a mistake found in it... Phase III always begins, whether Milady is there or not. The update noted 2012-01-23 will be correct.

Very nice. Do you have it listed somewhere that with 1 Musketeer, that player draws a card at the beginning of each turn?

Good catch... I meant to put that in but it looks like I accidentally omitted it. I'll keep collecting updates and corrections, and put up another update in about a week as comments keep rolling in.

Thanks!

I always said that i would really love to see a new version of the rules and apparently someone had the courage to do it.

So nice and impressive work ! I read it and it improves certainly the thing, but i must say that beginning (setup is great) with the explanation of the main quest is probably complicated.

Hope i'll find the time to put a layout around it someday.

REgards,
Cyril

First off: thanks for this it really helped with figuring things out.

Second: out of curiosity what's changed in the April version? I have the 1/23 version, wondering if I should print out the newer one.

Just a couple minor changes and clarifications... Namely:

With only one Musketeer player: nine card hand, draw another at the start of his turn.

Adventure Deck reshuffle.

Rochefort does not reveal himself if the Musketeers deal with the trap card (it was indicated in the Location chapter but the Rochefort chapter indicated the contrary).

Rochefort only reveals himself when the Musketeers act (challenge or duel) in Paris, Le Louvre, The Quest and not when they enter the square.

Thanks, I finally printed this and it is enormously helpful, especially with the index.
