I while back I mentioned that I had some brushes for Illustrator which made creating the basic layout for Formula D tracks, easy.
Well here is is.
There are three brushes included. The first is the simple 3 lanes with track edgings. The second one is for the corner arrows, the 3rd doesn't work too well, but combines the 1st and 3rd brushes and the 4th is to mark out spaces on the 3 lanes.
The simplest way of using this brush-set is to draw the basic shape of your track, using a normal illustrator brush. When this is done, make a copy of that layer.
Now select the lower layer and select the 3 lane brush (making sure the fill layer is set to no stroke) and do the same for the upper layer, but select the 4th 'spaces' brush.
Along thee straights the spaces work out at about 17.5mm long by 10mm wide, which is F-D average.
Unfortunately the corners still have to be done by hand, by placing layers over the top, but I find these brushes a great help.
These are by no means perfect, but they do a job. sometimes there appear to be very slight gaps in the 3-lane brush.
This can easily be fixed using a number of techniques.
Any questions, please ask.
