Wow, this is a bit different from the Australian version. Obviously the hint cards are different (9 rooms, 6 characters, 6 spells, 0 professors).
Other Differences:
The ghost bumps you back to the start square.
Player whose birthday nearest 31 July starts.
All hint cards dealt out at the start (after removing the 3 to guess).
You can enter the same space multiple times on a turn.
You can leave and then re-enter a room on your turn.
You only draw 1 green card if you roll 2 crests (I think---it is not clear).
You can jump another player on the stairs, and if you were going to land on another player on the stairs, you can go to the next space instead.
Nothing special happens on doubles.
It seems to me that these changes speed up the game, and reduce frustration. I think they're better.
