DelvenDeep is an expansion for RedJak's Automated Overlord Variant (RAOV).

The RAOV DD expansion is a random dungeon crawl campaign for Descent Second Edition.

The heroes are investigating the mysterious DelvenDeep dungeon. This dungeon is an ever-changing maze full of arcane magics. It is said that DelvenDeep is home to all the evil in Terrinoth.

There is no story. There is no grand quest. DelvenDeep is purely about monster bashing. It is meant to be a simple hack 'n slash random dungeon crawl experience.

Each dungeon level is generated randomly using Dungeon cards. Monsters are spawned randomly within the rooms of the dungeon. Event cards create special effects that can apply to a particular room, or the whole dungeon level. The Overlords of DelvenDeep can exert their influence over the dungeon using Dark Influence cards. There is even the occasional mini-quest.

Currently, there are 42 Dungeon cards, 58 Event cards (including the Punishing Warlord, Unkind Magus, and Darker Influences booster packs), 34 Dark Influence cards, 3 Rumor cards, and 3 Summary cards. That is a total of 140 cards. Occasionally, more Event cards will be released in the form of 9-card booster packs.

You will need a copy of the RedJak Automated Overlord Variant V2, V3, or V4 to play this expansion, which can be found here:

Sorry guys ... I totally forgot that I used the descent fonts. So many of you won't be able the see the xls sheet in the way I made it. So I created a PDF to ensure the fonts / symbols are displayed correctly. Sorry for the inconvenience. :P

RedJak's Automated Overlord Variant (RAOV) will fully automate the Overlord actions in a Descent 2E campaign. This eliminates the need for an Overlord player, and turns Descent into a fully co-op or solo game. RAOV works with all existing campaigns and expansions. It is also compatible with other variants, such as Percepter's Legendary Play Variant, and RedJak's DelvenDeep Expansion.

This V4 variant is the final evolution of RAOV. This version should give players the experience of playing against a tougher Overlord than in V3.

I have always enjoyed fantasy RPG video games and board games, and have wanted board games with depth similar to video games but haven't had the patience or desire to get into the rule intensive table top RPG's out there. Descent 2E has done a great job providing the tools for a streamlined RPG board game, but it has a very heavy tactical theme to it. These rules are meant for use as a conversion of sorts, allowing for a game master to build an adventure in a similar manner to a tabletop RPG but using the streamlined rules and materials from the Descent 2E board game. Some changes are made to enhance the experience of players and bring some additional actions and abilities to better suit a RPG game. Let me know if you have any thoughts or advice! These ideas have come from my own thoughts along with the free simple D&D rules found on their website.
The Rules are in the document below.

This document is a file for building custom hero sheets. It has been simplified and streamlined a bit compared to past user submissions. It may not be perfect, but it makes it fairly simple to build a custom hero for use in Descent 2E or Descent RPG.

To remedy this I introduced rules for the players akin to what Star Wars Imperial assault does, but more fitting the current balance of Decent. If you feel it tips the balance in the Overlord's favour I'm including special rule for the Overlord too.

I recently made card templates, which I used to create cards for custom Descent coop adventures. Since I saw a lot of these adventures appear lately, I wanted to upload my template, which might help to create custom peril-, activation- and encounter cards.

All files were created with Photoshop CS 2, which can be downloaded for free from Adobe (if you are a legitimate owner of this version).

While the quality of the files is not perfect, they are nevertheless a good starting point.

Notice: You have to browse the layers and activate them before the content of the file is visible. The peril cards will fit into green FFG sleeves and the encounter- and activation card will fit into the orange FFG sleeves. The Layout was done in A4, but it should be easy to resize the file to any other format.

SSCC (Steve's Solo & Co-op Campaign) variant will offer:
- the option to appoint a player as GM and keep everything secret except the basic goals. The GM is also responsible for placing the tiles and monster dice rolls (oa GM is ptional, not necessary to play the game co-op and certainly not for solo play)
- exploration phase: drawing a dungeon card (RAOV variant) to expose the next tile
- some tiles will have event cards
- some tiles will have overlord cards
- RAOV variant for monster activation
- always an optinonal monster group tile in case you don't have the monster group (optional monster groups will always be ones from the base game)
- use doom & loottrack from Forgotten Souls to trigger the time heroes have to fulfill an encounter and to keep track of the shop cards you draw
- backpack; shop items drawn during an encounter due to the loottrack are placed in the backpack. When finishing the encounter, heroes gain a certain encounter bonus (gold value). Item(s) worth this bonus can be purchased (this to make sure the heroes aren't becoming gods too earlier). Backpack is limited in capacity
- at the start of the overlord turn, make a predetermined attribute test (could be done by anyone or have the GM do this). If the test passes, advance the doom track
- overlord gains 1 trait token for every hero that is on a tile not occupied by a monster group
- reinforcements have a trait cost. At the end of the overlord turn, roll a D6 to see what miniature (lined up from left to right) the overlord will try to spawn from the reinforcements. If the cost can be paied, the figure will be spawned. Repeat until a monster can't be paied or no monsters available on the reinforcements
- reinforcements can ignore group limits in certain quests
- keeping true to the campaign and story progression

VERSION 2.2 UPDATE: Mostly minor changes. "Equipment" now listed as "Equipment/Relics" (just because). Added a space to write down which Lieutenant the Overlord has chosen as their Agent (for those with Lieutenant packs). Added the allies Serena and Raythen under the Labyrinth of Ruin campaign tracker (to circle the accompanying ally, and to cross off when they turn into a Lieutenant).

VERSION 2.1 UPDATE: Updated to include the Shadows of Nerekhall campaign. The original "2.0" had a typo, where I had to correct the term "Corruption Cards" to the proper wording, "Corrupt Citizens Cards." Whoops. :p. Unfortunately, there are now 3 sheets, but you can maintain a streamlined campaign record by picking one of the two quest pages (instead of printing all three every time).

CURRENTLY COVERS: Descent: Journeys in the Dark 2nd Edition, Lair of the Wyrm, Labyrinth of Ruin, and Lieutenant Plot Decks

A simple, yet (hopefully) complete campaign record sheet that only spans two pages, utilizing a minimal amount of color, making it ideal for multiple printings. I couldn't find a decent, simplified campaign sheet that I was able to take a pen to, and since Descent already requires so much table space once you've got so many expansions, I couldn't find anything online that fit my personal preferences.

Feel free to offer suggestions. While I may not implement everything (this IS a campaign record sheet, and not intended for use as a rules reference), it's very possible that someone has an idea I had not thought of... Heck, I don't even know if there's enough space for everything needed yet...

Eine weitere Koop Varianten, um das Grundspiel und die ersten beiden Erweiterungen kooperativ zu spielen. Nutzt wie das offizielle Koop-Abenteuer Aktivierungskarten und zwar eine pro Szene. Diese geben an, welche Monster der Overlord verwendet, welche Entscheidungen er trifft und wie er die Monster aktiviert.
