6 Afrika Korps:: Modified AK Counters
Submitted By: kryfam
AK-Unit(a).pdf 826 KB
A set of counters similar to the "Standard" set I uploaded earlier but with the following additions and modifications: 1) Added "AUTO VICT" markers to help designate automatic victory attacks/over runs during play. 2) Added "ISOL" markers to help designate Isolated units during play. 3) Modified the strengths of the German Panzer Regiments (6-6-10) and Panzer-grenadier Regiments (4-4-10) in order to provide battalion level "breakdown" units for these formations. These work similar to Allied Substitute units however, only the "Children" could be used to reconstitute the parent unit. 4) Made the three allied Motorized Infantry units truly "motorized" with a movement allowance of 8, otherwise they function exactly as a regular "Infantry" unit. 5) Deleted the Italian CENTOR (2-2-4) Infantry Division (there was no such animal) and transferred it’s strength points to the FOLGORE (3-3-4) unit and elevated it from a regiment to a division (the entire division fought in North Africa not just one regiment). 6) Although the Italians definitely had transportation issues, they were not as immobile as the game depicts. To rectify this I provide them with a "Truck" unit (0-0-7) as an "at start" unit which can be attached to any one ITALIAN INFANTRY DIVISION with which it begins the movement phase stacked with (it has no inherent stacking value). This unit can never be attacked separately, it is considered a part of the unit it is "attached" to and suffers any and all combat results of that unit. It can be "re-attached" to another unit with which it is stacked only at the beginning of a movement phase and it can never be alone in a hex or "unattached" to a unit at any time during the game. If destroyed it costs three (3) replacement points to reconstitute. 7) Provided GAME TURN, and REPL POINT record makers as well. Enjoy

15 Afrika Korps:: Very Colorful Replacement Counters for Afrika Korps
Submitted By: kryfam
Afrika Korps (AH) Counters.pdf 165 KB
A very nice set of replacement counters for this old warhorse. Since all the other divisions were given (at least it was attempted) their Italian divisional name, I took the liberty of changing the Italian "FASCISTS" division to "FASCISTI", it is actually the 136th Inf Div GIOVANI FASCISTI (Young Fascists) more commonly refered to as the GGFF. Also, corrected the spelling of the Italian "FOLGERE" Regiment to "FOLGORE" (Lightening). I gave the British substitute counters each a "[BG]" (Battlegroup) echelon symbol, It always bothered my military mind that they never had an echelon symbol. Although I didn't change them (maybe a future project) there are several mis-spelled Italian units: The "TRENTA" Division should be "TRENTO" (102nd Mot Div Trento, but had no trucks) The "SAVENA" Division should be "SAVONA" (55th Inf Div Savona) The "PISTOLIO" Division should be "PISTOIA" (16th Inf Div Pistoia). Although, I have to admit, the mental image of a bunch of Italians running around in the desert branishing pistols is pretty cool!! There is no record of an Italian division with the name of "CENTOR" (Center). I assume it is an ad hoc unit consisting of the remnants of the SIRTE, MARMARICA, CIRENE, and CATANZARO Divisions which were destroyed during Operation Compass in Jan/41. As for the germans, I have no idea where the designation of Fallschirm Brigade 51 comes from. It was actually Fallschirm Brigade "AFRIKA" or as it was more commonly known, Fallschirm Brigade "RAMCKE", after it's commander.

1 Afrika Korps:: Excel File to track PBEM Game
Submitted By: bettingman66
A-Korps_MASTER-GBB.doc 608 KB
I created this excel file to track and facilitate PBE-Mail of the AHGC classic Afrika Korps. The German player inputs his APRIL-1941-I movement for each counter available in his OB and resolves battles. The file allows for advances/retreats and the new hex locations for both Axis and Allied pieces. The Allied player then takes his APRIL-1941-I turn in the same worksheet. The APRIL-1941-I tab is copied to make the APRIL-1941-II turn and the procedure is repeated. Allows for the marking/tracking of counters that are eliminated as the battle for Tobruch advances. Enjoy.

New Board-LARGE.pdf 2.35 MB
I updated a "new look" AK board that is easy to mount on a 24" x 48" piece of MDF. It has tasteful hex location citations. The PDF prints on 5 ledger-sized sheets (11"x17") and can be sealed with spray laminant once adhered to the MDF.

Instead of writing on your time record, print out this excel file and use a spare counter to keep track of the turn. You can also use spare markers to keep track of replacement factors on the bottom track. Play Afrika Korps without a pencil!!!
