-Exploration mode is now the dominant form of drawing tiles. No more choosing where the tile goes.
-Weapon searches limited to once per building
-Updated the "ammo search" for the shotgun. A maximum of 3 bullets can be found on an ammo search. I removed the option to find bullets equal to the die roll, as this would make the game too easy.
-Minor updates to wording/clarification/spelling and grammar errors
-Resting phase has been removed, as it is too easy to gain health back

Los jugadores son superhéroes (como la Liga de la Justicia) que se enfrentan a una horda invasora (aliens en vez de zombies, aunque daría igual). Como sugerencia usar Heroclix como peones. Lo más importante: es sólo una idea a la espera de mejoras, comentarios y sugerencias! :)

Incorporates version 5 of the quick reference sheet.

This is a complete re-write of the base game rules. It uses many ideas found on this forum and quite a few of my own.

Players win only by getting to a helicopter, unless they are turned into a zombie, in which case they win only by becoming the master zombie.

Zombie trophies do not give victory but are used for several game effects:
1) they allow humans to go into a frenzy which gives them extra moves and combat.
2) they allow the player, human or zombie, with the most to place the helipad.
3) if all players are turned into zombies then the player with the most trophies wins.
4) zombie players can drain trophies from human players to their own collection.
5) zombie players can expend trophies to beef up combat against human players.

There is way less dice rolling with dice rolls being retained only for combat. Game play is fast. The game takes slightly longer to play (1.5 to 2 hours for four players).

Changes in the Fifth version
-----------------------------

The fifth version fixes some mistakes and adds the fight over the helipad and the delayed win via the helicopter.
It beefs up player zombie combat by letting the player zombie spend trophies to adjust the dice roll and allows
players to keep frenzy tokens, making the frenzy check a “top up” rather than a whole new set of tokens. Once the
helipad is down players only draw events if they have enough trophies to frenzy. These things accelerate the end
game and make it a bit fierce. The new tile set up, known as the “tight set up” keeps the game length to about one
and a half hours, and puts some urgency on the players to buff up before the helipad comes out.

The second slice rules are a complete revamp of the zombies game rules.
Version 3.
- Removes play limit of 1 per round on event cards. (nobody ever obeyed this in any of the games I have played).
- Dead zombie players, prior to the helipad being placed, are respawned as zombies after handing trophies to the player that killed them and losing four more to the zombie bank.
- There is a new zombie only turn step 7) Lost Hope Check, where zombie players may drain a trophy from each human surrounded by zombies.
- Event card descriptions now incorporate references to locations from expansions, and are in a format to print, cut and add to the cards.
- Some minor tweaks to various bits

This is version 2 of the 2nd Slice revamp of the Zombies!!! rules. It incorporates all the errata that developed after the version 1 release, some modifications based on further play experience, and a more compact format.

Errata

Some people have commented that they do not like the idea of being returned as a human when their zombie dies and the helipad has not yet been drawn. This is for aesthetic reasons more than game play ones.

The alternate rule is to return as a zombie, after losing trophies to the player and bank as written. This can be a difficult set back but it would make players becoming zombies a dangerous thing for the human players, especially if the zombie player's trophy level is at or beyond the frenzy level since it would be hard for the humans to catch up after becoming a zombie themselves.

In playing with this rule some players took to using the re spawned zombie as a weapon by dropping it as a surprise zombie on other players. Chortlingly good fun but a bit hard on the zombie player and victims. So placement of the zombie is any legal space not on the same tile as the current one and not in the same space as a human player.

This is a complete re-write of the base game rules. It uses many ideas found on this forum and quite a few of my own. It makes no reference to or allowance for any of the expansions.

Humans can be turned into zombies. Humans win by getting to the helicopter. Zombies win by converting all players to zombies and having the most trophies at game end.

Zombie trophies allow humans to go into a frenzy which gives them extra moves and combat (but not victory).

The zombie trophies allow the player with the most, human or zombie, to place the helipad.

Zombie players can drain trophies from human players to their own collection.

Way less dice rolling with dice rolls being retained only for combat.

There is a fair bit more. The game has been play tested a fair bit over the last five weeks with 2 to 6 players and appears to give a tight play with a fair bit of tension building toward the end game.

Ask questions about rules clarification here and I will place the replies here too. I have tried to make them self explanatory and had some proof reading, but there are always areas that could be better.

7 Player Session that lead to the new eliminated player rule.

Errata for file version 1
======

* A human player during the move zombies step cannot move a zombie into her own space unless there is another human player in it.

* Surprised by zombies penalty only happens in the surprised by zombies step and no other time.

* Only one of each type of event card may be "in play" for any given player. You may have two in hand no problem.

* "Where did everybody go" event card is 5 spaces of movement, not 5 move points.

After the seven player game I have added a new rule about being eliminated as a zombie player:

* If the helipad is not yet in play then the eliminated player loses half her trophies and is respawned immediately as a human player with 3 lives and 5 bullets. The player that bumped her off decides where she re-enters play, choosing any legal space, and claims two of the ex zombie player's trophies.

And a change to the play sequence:

* The frenzy check occurs just before surprised by zombies.

* Four trophies are returned to the unused zombie pool when going into a frenzy, not two.

* If you can go into a frenzy you must

* Frenzy tokens unused are lost after the movement / action step of your turn
