I have played this game extensively with these variant rules. They clean up some of the unclear things in the original. They also replace some things which I disliked, such as the ability to discard your entire hand each turn. In this form this is one of my favourite multiplayer conflict games.

These are the updated errata, clarifications and house rules for Samurai and Katana. They've been collected from Tilsit and Clash of Arms, various websites and extensive playtesting with the Florida Suncoast Gamers. I hope they are useful to you. PS - Discovered a small error after posting. Under House Rules, add that the Eliminated player also gets 5 cards along with 5 Samurai and 4 koku.
