9 Triplanetary:: A4 format version of Original map, with modifications

This is a modification and rescale of the original Triplanetary map to make it more suitable for printing. There are also some homebrew gameplay changes so this map not quite like the original coming with the game and has surely seen much less play testing. Use it at your own risk. I worked off the original map image uploaded by Winchell Chung (above). The following are the changes I did: - Map rescaled to fit the international A4 format for easy printing. This meant adding more hexagonal grid area at the top and bottom. The resolution is good enough to print at least an A3 page (I've tried). - Thanks to the new space at the top, the entire Jupiter system now fits on the map. - Added Europa to the Jupiter system as a moon without defenses. - Made all the "area of influence lines" much more discreet so they don't dominate the map look as much. - Moved all object names to the edges of the map to disturb the game play as little as possible. - Added stronger gravity to Sol. The overlapping double-arrows means that gravity moves you two steps in that direction. The smaller split-arrows found at some spurious angles work like normal single arrows, except the ship get to choose between the two directions. The advantage with a more massive sun is realism; also the sun will now allow for some really daring slingshot maneuvers. You can still orbit the sun (with a speed of 2) if you assume that you always use the single arrow gravity whenever you pass along a hex-edge between single- and double arrows. If you like the original behaviour, just ignore the extra arrows and treat the sun like any planet. - To make room for the heavier sun, Mercury was moved a little further away. Enjoy! . Starkiel
