6 1870:: 1870 Moderator v3
Submitted By: sdamoabite
1870_Moderator_v4.zip 429 KB
1870_v4 Read Me 1870_v4 was written by SDAmoabite inspired by but quite different from the 1856 Moderator posted by marktav on July 16, 2009 who happens to be a friend as has given valuable input. 1870_v4 is an Excel Spread Sheet that utilizes macros (Visual Basic) to automate the rules and operations in the 1870 rule book. MACRO’s MUST BE ENABLED. The moderator replaces all game pieces not directly related to the map: i.e. Tiles and stations. Game time can be greatly reduced. (I play solitaire ‘Algorithmic Revenue’ games in about an hour and fifteen minutes.) Players input game actions through the use of forms. The file is saved as a template so it starts exactly the same every time. As with all templates at the first “Save” a new file is created. The file is saved automatically and regularly so be sure to Save it before you begin in order to give it a custom name or location. To play press the “Show Form” Button. After that it should be fairly user friendly. If you encounter an error please let me know. So I can fix the code. Updated from v3: 1. Initial Investment Stream Lined 2. Undo Labeling Issue 3. Algorithmic Revenue Reworked 4. Reissue Shares Button Disables Redeem Button Per Rule Book Also, If you encounter an error you can modify the spread sheet manually but will need to “Unprotect” the sheet first. (Tools: Protection: Unprotect Sheet) Code is not locked and can be viewed and edited if you wish. (3000+ lines - have fun.)
