As promised this is another rendition of a more streamlined ruleset for The Thing Card Game. Not Mark's original version but he did look it over. Made this mostly for my copyof the game; I wanted to include some of the suggestions from other rule copies, some of the extras such as cardlists and FAQs, as well as make it a little more "pretty," also w/less pages than my original. Let me know what you think (I still have the original docs and would be happy to post with the Redux images if anyone wants).

These are three tuckboxes to store the ArtsCow version of The Thing, including the 5-6 player expansion. The three boxes hold 1)The Thing player's decks, 2) The Outpost players' decks, and 3) All the other cards. "The Thing", copyright Universal Pictures. Used for nonprofit purposes only under Fair Use.

I created this edited version of the rules for Mark Chaplin's "The Thing card game" for my own use. At the request of the author, I provide this version of the rules for all to enjoy. With all respect to Mark, I had to trim a bit of the flavour text to get the essentials to fit on 4 pages. I hope you find it useful!

I've reduced the rules down to two pages - one with the turn sequence and the other with some rules that I thought might otherwise get overlooked. If there are any errors, please let me know and I'll try and fix them.

Scans of all the cards in the game (front and back) in 300 dpi. Odd numbered pages are the card-fronts and even numbered pages are the card-backs. So, page 1 and page 2 are the card - front and back. Similarly page 3 and page 4 are the card front and back.

PDFs of the cards for the game. No images, just text, ideal for a test play if you want to try it out. Also included are the NanDeck scripts to create the cards.
