Originally published in the July 1988 issue of GAMES Magazine, Archimedes is a nautical battle game for 2 players.
Archimedes can be played with a standard checkers set. The board is an 8×8 grid, and each player has 12 "ships" represented by checkers of one color. The object of the game is to capture opponent's ships in an attempt to land on the enemy's home port.
