Top Trumps has been a very popular card game in England since the seventies. There are many different card decks with various subject matter (i.e. cars, planes, military jets, famous TV shows, etc.). Recently Top Trumps has began surfacing in The U.S. thanks to Hasbro/Parker Brothers. The U.S. releases so far include six decks - Star Wars, Lord Of The Rings, The Simpsons, Dinosaurs, Predators, and Military Jets. This game is basically an advanced form of the classic War card mechanic. A player calls out a statistic from their card and all players compare their same statistic number from their card. The highest number wins that hand and play continues. The player who ends up with all cards wins. The more familiar you are with the deck the better since you will gain from knowing what particular cards have a superior statistic compared to other cards. This adds a memory factor to the game. The cards have pictures of the subject matter and are packed with statistics and facts.
