Thread: Re: Where to get? Streamlined 18xx?

I thought this was the best straight forward 18xx game out there back a few years ago so I made my own copy from scratch (a number of pictures of this home made set are posted here). I have found 18FL to be just as good and it's available from John Tamplin. While it isn't as straight forward, it plays really well with new players.

I'm pretty sure that 1851 has not been available for quite a few years. According to the info on Blackwater Station, kits have been on hiatus since October 2001. It's a shame because I have heard some pretty good things about this game.

well,

18MEX, 18FL and 18TN (a reworked 1851) are all available here:

http://www.deepthoughtgames.com/games/

18GA and 18AL are available here:

http://www.diogenes.sacramento.ca.us/18AL_18GA.html

All have been described as shorter, streamlined 18XX games that are good for beginners. I decided to give 18MEX a try, after learning 18GA. But, these kits aren' cheap. I basically ordered all the stuff to make the 18MEX kit as good as possible given the options the guy offers, and with shipping it was around $85.00(US).

hth,
jeff
