So I take it, that the reference cards in the compents picture are just info from the rules and therefor not needed? Thanks for the info, thinking about tracking this game down, sounds fun.

Thread: Session Report

I tried this fun game at Essen, and bought it straight away.
The ultimate goal is to establish burger restaurants in 4 or 5 cities (depending on the amount of players). To build a restaurant, you roll against the city's resistance to your alien race - a value from 3 to 11, and you use a D12.
The resistance is reduced by the amount of surrounding fries booths you have built in the surrounding villages. The fries booths and cities you have taken also mark your area of influence - you can move freely in your villages and cities but have to stop if you put one of your UFO's on an unoccupied or enemy field.
You can take over enemy fries booths by just leaving a UFO on top of it for a turn - to take over an enemy burger restaurant, you have to roll. In this case, the city's resistance is even increased by 2 with every enemy restaurant (max. 2) in town. Again, neighbouring fries booths help, and also your own UFOs in town.
If two enemy UFOs end up on the same village or town, they bump each other away. Each player rolls, and the loser's UFO is bumped away by as many spaces as the difference between the two rolls was. If the bumped UFO passes a town, it will be spotted by eye witnesses. Each eye witness yet again increases the town's resistance to your race, and deducts from your final score.
You can also build new UFOs, including bumper UFOs with an advantage in bumps, and tranquilizer UFOs that remove eye witnesses.
The game is not as luck-dependent as it may seem. The odds of sneaking in and taking over a town are much worse than if you plan your attack and place fries booths neaby. Also the bumping business can be helped by having supporting UFOs around.
UFOs! has a hilarious theme, plays quickly (30 to 45 minutes), and still has enough depth to be an interesting game. It's a game you can play with non-geeks or use as a starter or filler with your gaming group. My group has thoroughly enjoyed it so far, and I'm rating it at 7 to 8.
Thread: Short note from the publisher

Since I'm a part of our little company, I've been quite involved in the design and playtests of UFOs, so if there are any questions about the game, please send me an email or post them here and I'll try to answer them.

For those who are interested, some more infos on the game (and the english rules) are available on our website.

Cheerio,
Maik
