Once again if I remember correctly...

When I started to game with him, this game was already in the can and awaiting distribution (which is all out of his hands).

Just out of curiosity....you play with Mike on a regular basis....but you haven't playtested the heck out of this one? That says to me it may never be done.

I have to admit, I used to be the ultimate Mike Fitzgerald groupie. I bought his Mystery Rummy games and got many people hooked on them. They single-handedly got a game group together for me at work which lasted for years..... We played each game so many times that I had to buy second copies of the games (they were completely worn out).

But then we heard about Bonnie & Clyde but it never came. And we bought History's Mysteries and "tried" to like it....but it is a terrible game. Slowly...ever so slowly...we all became a little disillusioned with Mike.

This is not to say that I do not still play all four of the existing Mystery Rummy games...and I have a preorder of Bonnie & Clyde with Thoughthammer that has been sitting there so long...it has mold on it. But I think it will never come...and some day, Thoughthammer will just send me my money back and say they gave up waiting. By then, I will probably be on medicare.

Do I sound cynical? Maybe....just a little.....(but still, I keep hoping it will be worth the wait..............).

I play at a game group with Mike Fitzgerald on a regular basis... if I remember him correctly, this Mystery Rummy game is going to be kind of like Mystery Rummy: Murders in the Rue Morgue... better in pairs, but okay with two.

I know this game has been floating around for years and that Rio Grande is scheduled to publish it at some point. But is there any info about gameplay, number of players, etc. available anywhere?

It's slipped some more. Now it's August 2008. Been waiting for several years for this game. It's a card deck and some rules but somehow it's taken a very long time to be published. I'll keep waiting of course.

About a year ago, I spoke to the manufacturer about Rue Morgue and they had no intensions of re-releasing it. However, they may have changed their minds since then. I think if enough people expressed an interest in it, it may get them to reconsider this..... just a thought. Hey, stranger things have happened....

I hope so... this would be nice for those of us that missed out on this great series before most of them went OOP.

Now I see on the Boardgamenews site under gone cardboard that's it been pushed to 2008. I have been waiting for this game now for three years to the best of my knowledge. Sadly I'm due to more waiting.

Lynda, note the 2005 date on the original post. Rio Grande Games is printing Bonnie & Clyde as US Games no longer publishes the series and the expected date for its release is October 2007.

Hmmm...Funagain Games recently updated the info on this game to reflect an Essen 2007 release. Thoughthammer is also taking pre-orders and mentions an October release.

Mike Fitzgerald on the podcast Garrett's Games & Geekiness said that Rio Grande will definitely be releasing it this year. Nothing more solid than "before the end of the year" IIRC.

US Games has declined to publish Bonnie & Clyde, so RGG has picked it up. Jay says it will be released sometime in 2007, but he hasn't been more specific than that.

I notice the BGG entry here states Rio Grande as the publisher... is it still US Games or have they licensed it to RG to publish, or did it fall through with USG and RG picked it up or ... ?

I emailed to inquire about the new Bonnie and Clyde game from Mike Fitzgerald's excellent Mystery Rummy series. This is the response I got:

At this point in time, we do not have a date for publication of Bonnie & Clyde as our production schedule is full through 2006.
