Thread: Adventure design kit

This review was based on the European (Dutch) Opdrachten Ontwerp-Set.
Copyright Hasbro 1991 MB B.V.
Disclaimer: Excuse me for my poor English.

Includes:

4 sticker pages. (Stickers with monsters, traps and furniture)
1 black quest book.
1 note-book.

Quality:

Not enough stickers, need more for harder adventures. The book says you shouldn't over-use them, because otherwise, all your dungeons will look alike.

I liked the black Quest book. It's a nice conclusion for the other colors (Green, Red, Brown, ...) Perfect for the five final adventures against say.. Morcar himself.

The paper is nice and shiny but a thicker paper would have been better. (If you write much in the book, the book will have some 'bumps'.)

Stickers look good.(Like the real thing.)

The new note-book is better than the old Hero paper but wasn't needed.More like an extra with much more room for information.
Their is a shield to stick your Shield of Honour sticker if you're a SuperHero. Only thing I missed was the 'warcry' of the old note-book.

Overall Review:

Since there was an "empty dungeon map" in the first 'brown' adventure book, wich is included in the HeroQuest box, this expansion wasn't really needed. I got two of this when I was a kid, ten years ago, because I wanted my dungeons to look as 'professional' as the real thing, but the lack of space for extra rules hasn't changed.

I would advize NOT to buy this expansion, because it adds no real advantages and no new rules. Make your own dungeon and write your story on a computer. Things will look as good as this little black book. (My 50 adventure campaign looks better even ...)
