Thread: User Review

I played this game with my two nieces and one of their friends, ages 7-10 (no one else would volunteer!).

Anyway, Dracula tends to come round about rather quickly (he moves counter-clockwise on the board) and moves every time a player moves!

I never heard so much agonized howling in my life...because the first player to be caught has to put on the corny vampire bat mask and play the role of Dracula's Green Bat...ok, I was so busy managing the game I got caught and found out the mask impedes game play because it is hard to see out of, so we ended up using it as a token, held by whoever was Green Bat thingy.

Actually, the game has a high frustration factor and is NOT as simple as it looks! The other players caught in the same room with Dracula were sent howling and screaming back to the 'start' block. Another was about to win by leaving the mansion but was blocked by the constantly flitting Blue Bat, delayed, then had to scramble back into the mansion as Dracula or the Green Bat (me trying to get someone else to play the role!) converged (this happened twice). Decinding to end the game as soon as anyone successfully left the castle, a nerve wracking back and forth Green Batting occurred near the exit before one of the players successfully made it out.

For kids, I recommend you leave the rovings of Dracula (and the Green and Blue Bat) up to the dice...for adults, this game can be a surprisingly challenging game!

Check it out!
