Thread: Go Wacky! Review

If there is an exclamation point in the title it has to be fun, right?

Patch continues there line of mindless games for the masses with go wacky. Yet another game of few choices.

The game contains six blank dice and a small sheet of stickers. My dice were white, those pictured on the box are black. There are also 88 cards.

The game begins after every player has selected a die and has been dealt four cards. The rest of the cards form a draw pile and the top card is turned over to begin a discard stack.

Each player in turn plays a card to the stack that matches the color card already on the stack. There are four colors in the game; red, yellow, blue and green. Some cards are one solid color and others are split between two colors. When playing a card at least part of the card color has to match. You can play a blue/green spit on either a blue or a green, or a split card with either blue or green. After the card is played you take action if it is a card with words on it. You then draw a card to end your turn.

Some of the cards require action before the turn is over. There are four card types with writing on them. Every card still has a background color or colors. The four cards and their explanation are as follows:

Everybody Go Wacky! - When this card is played everyone immediately starts rolling their die. First person to roll the color of the card scores the card and places it next to them in a points pile.

Go Wacky! - When this is played the player who played it starts to roll his/her die. The other players take turns counting "One Go Wacky, Two Go Wacky" all the way to "Twenty Go Wacky". Once that player matches the color on their card they turn the top card of the draw pile over and continue to roll, trying now to match the top color. When twenty Go Wacky is reached the turn is over.

Round 'n Round - When this is placed the player turns over one card from the draw pile for each player in the game. Then they roll the die and take one matching card if there is one to be found among the cards just turned over. Whether or not they get a matching card the play goes to the next player who rolls his/her die. Play continues around until are cards are collected. Cards collected are placed in the player's points pile.

Bull's Eye - This card is played in the center of the table and all players at the same time roll their die towards it. Whoever gets their die closest to the center of the card wins the card.

That's about it. Play until the last card is drawn from the draw pile.

Another point to note: There are six sides on the dice but only four colors. The fifth and sixth side are white and black and appear to have no significance in the game.

As you can see there isn't much to the game. I cannot recommend it for anyone unless you really like Bunco or LCR.
