It depends how and when you use it. The worm chip that lets you move a high value tile to the bottom of your scoring stack can also be really powerful.

Thread: Re: Worm chips

The translation seems fairly clear on the issue:

You choose a tile which has at least one of your pawns on it. By playing this token, instead of moving your own pawn, you move all the other pieces there (other players’ pawns, guards, Flixxy) the distance rolled on the die.

So yes, to both your questions. But I don't think you can pick and choose what to move; EVERYthing goes.

Thread: Re: How to incorporate the Pitfall tile with Verflixxt Nochm

The expansion makes the game to take longer to finish (due to Flixxy) and the pitfall tile adds a little more time, but there is so much more excitement with the pitfall tile along with Flixxy and the swap tiles.
The pitfall tile goes in the middle of the tiles (position 20) and it works better with this expansion since Flixxy keeps coming back (crossing the finish line and jumping back to the starting line). Another thing that works very well with the pitfall tile, is that players will jump into it to get back to the starting line and have a second chance to upload to their opponents some negative tiles via the swap tiles that always remain in the game.
We will never play without the pitfall tile! We never had any complaint that it takes too long. Our games are with 4 or 5 players.
We've been playing the random setup for a while now, but I would think we could stick the pitfall tile in the same location.

I've tried the pitfall with the regular game and it does go a little longer with it. Is it the same with the expansion?

Thread: How to incorporate the Pitfall tile with Verflixxt Nochmal

Here is a way how to incorporate the Pitfall tile with this expansion. We have played many many great games with this set up:

Follow the rules of how to set up the game as these are outlined in the Nochmal expansion. Include all tiles from the original game (yes, include the 4 tiles of -1 and -2 values). Insert the four orange coloured tiles as the 10th, 15th, 25th, and 30th tile of the course. Insert the Pitfall tile as the 20th tile.

Simple as that! Enjoy the game!

Thread: Re: swap question

I haven't played the expansion but did the translation posted here.
Whilst the German rules are vague on this point, my interpretation comes from the following sentence:
'Der Spieler muss seinen normalen Zug nicht mit der Spielfigur ausführen, mit der er den Platztausch durchführt bzw. durchgeführt hat.'
This translates as:
'The player must not carry out his normal turn with the playing figure with which he will carry out or carried out the swap.'
Crucial here is that 'playing figure' and its relative pronoun 'which' are in the singular not the plural. The piece referred to is therefore only your own piece which carries out the action and not the piece you swap with (which is really just a passive victim).
So you could swap with Flixxy and still move Flixxy. But at the end of the game if you only had one of your own pieces left you would not be able to play this chip if your normal turn required you to move your own piece.

Moviebuffs wrote:

What happens if you choose to swap with Flixxy and then roll Flixxy on the action die?

I think you roll the dice first, the worm-chip being played before or after the movement rather than before the die-roll. What you roll will influence whether you want to play a worm-chip or not. (Or, in the case of the example I give above, at the end of the game, whether you would be allowed to play the chip or not).

Thread: swap question

Just finishing my rules translation, and I have a question.

The "swap" worm chip allows you to switch one of your figures with an adjacent "foreign" figure before or after your move, but you are then not allowed to move the figures involved in the swap during your normal turn (or vice-versa, if you took your normal turn first).

What happens if you choose to swap with Flixxy and then roll Flixxy on the action die?

As I see it, you would be forced to move Flixxy, even if you swapped with him.

Anyone any ideas ?

N.
Hi, A fellow Geek had previously requested a translation from me but I was waiting to see what the posted version was like. I don't have the game but if said Geek still wants a translation he'll be sending me a scan of the rules and I'll do the translation ASAP. I assure you it will be usable - I translate from my knowledge of the language not with any computer program. If I get the scan I can e-mail the translation. I won't require any GG. I'm generally happy to do translations for people.
I'm not going to slag off sloehand's efforts because he has tried but the problems with relying on a program are evident.

Thread: English Translation of Rules requested -- GG Reward

While I appreciate the effort Spencer Sloe put in by typing the rules into an online translator, the current English translation available on BGG is just not very useful. Or maybe I'm just not willing to put the effort into translating the translation!

I mean what does:

"Before the first play the punching hurry carefully from the punching boards are solved."

really mean?

So I am posting a bounty of 25 Geek Gold for a "good, natural english" translation of the German rules for Verflixxt Nochmal.

I'm looking for a translation that reads easily and flows naturally and doesn't require a PhD in linguistics to figure out. Ideally, I'd like to see something on par with the English version of the rules included in the base version of the game.

The bounty will be paid only if I feel the translation meets my needs. I don't plan on being really nitpicky about this, but I won't except a machine translated document that requires additional effort to understand and interpret.

Thanks in advance for the effort!

-- Kimbo
SBabcock is the sole admin who handles file approvals. It is not uncommon for a backlog to develop and Sterling flushes them all at the once.

With BGG.con coming up, I expect the files to be approved later rather than earlier. If you haven't heard, assume they are sitting somewhere in the queue waiting for Sterling.
