In the dutch version the spinner is replaced by a die, with 5x a black dot (tank lives) and 1 red dot (tank destroyed).

My son, who is five, very much wants to play this game with me, but the rules as they stand are more than he can handle. So, here is what I did.

Take out the mines.

Take out the plotted/ranged fire.

When two tanks of the same rank fight both player's roll a die, with high die winning.

A Command Tank is worth one rank higher than a tank of the same rank (so a '6' with a flag beats a '6' without a flag).

Oh, and because I dislike spinners I replace the spinner with a die roll. A roll of 1, 2, 3 or 4 destroys the gun, while a 5 or 6 destroys the tank.

The description above pretty much has all the rules in it. Though I no longer own the game, I remember the rules and could help out if you have any questions about them.
