I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding the question or if Kubigaruma is. I thought the question is: Do you get money for zero-value-color containers that are still on your ship or in your store?

Anyone have an answer to that question? I think the answer is: you get paid for those. The only indication of this that i've found in the rules is the example which draws no distinction regarding the colors of the undelivered containers.

Just to confirm: this means 'seizure cannot bring a player below two machines', not 'you can only seize the third or higher machine'. If you seize the $6 machine of someone who has three, the $9 one slides into the $6 slot, right?

I've since had a chance to play a four-player game and really enjoyed it. It moved along and everyone else liked it too! (And the game was easy to explain.)

Other Comments:

The predictability of the "Value of Container" cards didn't detract from the game, and I suspect it won't, at least not through several plays.

The color choices: gah!
(1) The orange and brown containers are easy to confuse.
(2) The two blue ships are easy to confuse too, even if one of them is yours.
(3) A black container on the black ship is invisible.
[I still think it's a great game, and playable. A better selection of colors would've made it easier, though.]

I love the heft of the container ships.

The 6's and 9's on the player mats need underlining. (I know that the direction the numbers face show who pays, but still our group got the prices of factories mixed up.)

It's good to have something to cover your bid with: the number of cards in the stack reveals information.

There is an advantage to sitting after someone who routinely offers their goods at below market price.

Mine came yesterday along with my generals for Hannibal. All in good shape. I guess I was very lucky as most people's generals arrived broken or unglued.

Wow. I am stunned that I actually agree with Otherwise guy. Isn't that a sign of armageddon? I also got my containers today in the mail. They look pretty cool, and I practically forgot I was due them. Thanks valley games, it's a nice bonus.

I don't understand this. I pre-ordered Container in order to get the game, and if possible, get it quickly. As requested by my pre-order I got the game immediately upon release. No fuss no muss. All I had to do after my pre-order was wait, which certainly didn't require much effort or activity on my part! As expected Container is a great game that we've played many times and I'm quite happy there. Like you, my replacement containers also arrived recently. Again no effort or excitement was required on my part: they just arrived in the mail one day. They're pretty much as I expected them to be, not great, not terrible, just resin cuboids with a bit of thematic detailing. Certainly nice enough and I don't know how they could be much better than they are. What I'm missing is, where's the headache? Where's the journey? Pre-order, wait, receive game, play, new containers arrive, play some more ...seems pretty seamless and easy and even exactly as expected to me.

The game comes with enough containers. The bonus containers are just fancier resin to match the boats, rather than the wood ones that come with the game. Completely superfluous.

Have not received either the containers or the generals. I'm unhappy about this taking so very long. I have made three preorders over the last year. Hannibal, Containers and Agricola. All have been very late. Guess if I'm ever ever going to jump into a preorder again?

So the most common color Container on the Foreign Island is scored 0 each because of an overabundance on the island.

What about the remaining Containers the player has of that color at the Harbor Store and on their Ship? I'm reading that these still are worth $2 (Harbor Store) and $3 (Ship) each at the end scoring and its only the ones at Foreign Island that get scored at zero each.

Is that right?

Its been about 6 months but they finally came!

Anyway, I like them much better than the wood at first glance, the colors are much more distinguishable than the wood ones. It makes me want the factories as plastic as well :)
