Hi All,

While we may not have had this game available at Essen, we did have significant interest shown in it by other publishers, who want versions of it in their own languages. Hence the game is going to be delayed a little longer while we get the translation done. We are therefore now looking at a mid-December release date.

Unfortunately, Huang Di isn't going to be ready in time for its intended release at Essen. This is due to the graphics taking longer than anticipated.

If you have already pre-ordered for collection at Essen, then please either drop by our stand (5-55), or e-mail us at els (at) jklmgames.com and let us know your postal address, and we will ship the game to you when it is released. Obviously we will not be charging for the shipping.

We will have production-quality prototypes on the stand at Essen for people to play, so if you want to see the game, please do come and see us.

We are now looking at a mid-November release.

Hi All,

I need a little help from someone with the right skills...

To keep with the theme of Huang Di, I have acquired from a Chinese friend, the Chinese names of the actions in the game, using Chinese characters. However, I also need the Mandarin Chinese phonetic spellings for these characters. Unfortunately he's not been able to help with these.

So, is there anybody out there, who if I send you about a dozen words, translated into Chinese characters, you can provide the correct phonetic spelling of those characters?

Only people within JKLM know.

We don't announce the games which will be on JKLM Interactive too far in advance, to avoid the pressure to rush it out once people know what's coming. With software, even more than with boardgames, rushing to release something is likely to produce something that doesn't work properly.

Hmmm...I realize they had a pre-order listing when Cambridge Games was going to do this game. However, this was recently updated in Funagain's pre-order listings section even though it still lists the previous publisher. Well, either of you would probably know best...just passing on what I saw.

Huang Di is now available for pre-order. To do so, go to the JKLM Games site (http://www.jklmgames.co.uk), create an account (or login if you have one) - this is mainly so we know where to send it to! And then go to the Huang Di page and click the PayPal button for the currency of your choice.

The RRP for Huang Di is GBP 25.00. Pre-order it before production starts, and you get 20% off - that's just GBP 20.00. Furthermore, the first 10% of people to take advantage of this will get a GBP 3.00 voucher towards a future JKLM purchase. 11%-25% will get a GBP 2.00 voucher, and 26%-50% will get a GBP 1.00 voucher. See the FAQ on the JKLM games website for full details of the pre-order programme.

P&P is GBP 2.50 to anywhere in the world.

GBP 1.00 is about US$ 2.00 or Euro 1.33, but this may vary due to currency fluctuations.

I've been speaking to Markus at JKLM today. The latest news on Huang Di is this...

The current plan, is to release Huang Di at the UK Games Expo, on May 31st - June 1st, in Birmingham, England.

Pre-orders will be available a little nearer the time. An announcement will be made on this forum when they are available. They will follow the JKLM Games Pre-order structure which is described on http://www.jklmgames.co.uk/faq.php.

The rules will be posted before the game is released. However, before this happens, they need to be brought up to production quality.

No decision has yet been made over whether Huang Di will be added to JKLM Interactive.

Sorry it has been a while since I have left any kind of update on Huang Di. I received word a couple of weeks ago from JKLM Games that they are now working on the new graphics. So, for everyone who hated the old art... you can rest easy now. If you liked the old art, I hope you will like the new art even better.

Anyway, it still looks like it should be an early 2008 release. I will make sure and post more updates as news becomes available. Thanks.

Hi everyone, and thanks for the very positive outpouring! Yes, while I was at the Gathering of Friends, one of the things that JKLM said they would do is make the game smaller in size (so as not to take up such a huge amount of table space), as well as possibly make the different players' "Block" cards out of tiles instead of regular sized cards. Artwork will likely change as well. I don't know much else beyond that for now, but I will continue to give updates as they become available. Thanks again everyone.

Huang Di will be released in October, at the earliest, according to Markus at JKLM. Talk of components should probably wait until the game definitely makes it onto the publishing schedule. I've played this game a couple of time and hope to see it in print before too long in a smaller and less garish package.

Cambridge Games Factory is back up and running after a short 'real-life' interruption, but I'm afraid this year our main focus is going to be releasing the new edition of Glory to Rome, which will be out in September.

We are now actively working on our next set of new releases for early 2008, but you'll probably see Huang Di much sooner than that -- Bryan met up with JKLM Games at the Gathering, and they're hoping to bring out an edition later in the year.

Incidentally, our business model is to work with a lot of new designers so we're looking for potential new games RIGHT NOW -- please check out our submissions policy if you're interested!
