It means that regardless of who put the ghost on the yellow board, the middle symbol effect will affect the yellow player... being the active player.

Ok!

I just bought the game and love it. After just a few plays, however, my dog snatched the green ying/yang token off the table and gobbled it up. (This was strangely out of character.) Does anyone have any suggestions how best to replace it? Know of any ying/yang good luck tokens available over the internet? Can any crafty people suggest a good way of making a marker? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Q. If the active player is blue and manages to kill a ghost on the green board, but the ghost upon dying will make us roll a dice, then the blue will roll the dice and the outcomming will affect him or the green player?

Active player roll the die (blue in your example). He will loose 1 QI / all his tokens if the die shows this sides...

Q. When can a player actually use he's super power? I mean can he move and use power? Or do the both? Can he ask for village aid and use power and exrocise?

Yin-Yang can be used before the mouvement, after mouvement/before action, after action, after a Bouddha is placed. For example, you can use your YY to put a token on the circle of Prayer and then exorcise a Ghost using this new placed token...
Yin-Yang use is additional : you play your normal turn + YY

Q. The player can use he's super power every round when he is the active player? (surely if the power is avaible)

super power = yin-yang for you, that's right ???
If you got it, you can use it anytime during your turn. But to do that each turn, you must regain it !

I already asked Antoine but he might be busy right now and we'd wish to play tonight

Sorry, kind of busy, indeed

If the active player is blue and manages to kill a ghost on the green board, but the ghost upon dying will make us roll a dice, then the blue will roll the dice and the outcomming will affect him or the green player?

Q. When can a player actually use he's super power? I mean can he move and use power? Or do the both? Can he ask for village aid and use power and exrocise?

Q. The player can use he's super power every round when he is the active player? (surely if the power is avaible)

I already asked Antoine but he might be busy right now and we'd wish to play tonight

Same here.

Curse on the left stone = the player owning the board (as soon as the ghost is placed there).
Curse on the middle stone = the player owning the board (at the start of each of his "evil phases").
Curse on the right stone = the active player that just killed the ghost (unless the Witch or Buddha did it, of course).

I read it the same way you have, making the active player (who made the exorcism) roll the die and receive the effect (well, since we left those ghosts for the lean green no-curse-die-rolling machine we never rolled for them, but the idea was there).

Not to rain on anyone's parade and maybe the Repos folks will answer the question here but check out this thread http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/351049
I suspect the reason the bonus cards are available now was because of this printing error. My concern is that some of the games had base decks of different sizes. In the 2 copies that came across my path, the expansion cards were the same size but they did not match the decks which were of slightly different (but noticeable) size. So if the problem was not with the expansion, but was with the base decks there may still be some problem. I do not know if they reprinted the base decks also or if the lots sold at Essen were different than the ones sent out.

Yes, Tormentors (and using the graveyard) are no issues for you.
Thread: Green taoists eat tormentors for breakfast?

Hey all,

Bought the game last week, played it three times over the weekend, once with three players, and twice with 2. Only lost once to a deck that was severly stacked against us. Next time: normal difficulty!

I had a question, though. If the green taoist is using his extra tao die/never roll curse die power, does this effectively make him immune to tormentors on his board? This sure takes the bite off what I thought to be the nastiest type of ghost in the game (a title now reserved for those sneaky bastards that remove tao dice, especially if they come together with their little friends who block the use of all tao tokens... *shudder*). And can he freely resurrect others with impunity at the graveyard?

And they say it ain't easy being green...

Thread: Ghost Stories mini FAQ in ENG

I love this game

I will update this as soon as i get more info.

Hope it will be helpfull If anyone has any question we are going to try to answer them.

Q: How many ghosts are present at the start of the game?
A: None. The first player’s first move is to draw a new ghost card from the deck.

Q: Ghost figurines?
A: There are specific ghost cards in the game that has a Ghost Figurine on the middle of the card. Only those cards require ghost figurines on them and none other. When you draw a card with a ghost figurine in the middle circle, place on of the figurines on it. There are several other cards that don’t have this mark on them so they won’t require a figurine, and thus can’t go and haunt a village.

Q: What is the movement order of ghost figurines?
A: When the card is placed down with the ghost figurine then put on of the figurines on it. Wait for the next turn then move it up to the first circle above the card. Then again on the next turn move it again forward and haunt the first (or next is the first is already haunted) village. After the haunting happened move back the figurine on your card. (note that there are specific ghost who got an entering move witch allows them to get right to the first circle above the card!)

Q: How many villages can be haunted by ghosts?
A: In the basic game, after the third village is haunted, and in the next move there is another haunting, the game is lost. So no more than 3 villages can be haunted.

Q: If I want to exorcise two ghosts at the same time, how will that happen?
A: Go to a tile where this is possible and roll the dices. You roll once for both of them and decide witch one you want to kill. It is possible to kill both ghost if you rolled enough (still you can use your tokens also!).

Q: Enfeeblement Scroll usage?
A: It drops the ghosts resitence by one not to one. So if the ghost has 4 yellow resitance than it will drop to 3 yellow resitence.

Q: Can I use the middle villager help right away when we start the game?
A: Yes. Later in the game you also won’t need to leave a village and come back so you can ask for help.

Q: Who is affected by the curse of the ghost?
A: The player who got the ghost on he’s board. When there are a group effect, it will be clearly stated on the cards or dice.

Q: How long will a village remain haunted?
A: Till you broke the haunting. It wont get to normal if the ghost who haunted it dies.

Q: How long will a neutral board remain neutral?
A: If a neutral board is out of Qi then you won’t be able to use it’s powers no more in the game. The cemetery only resurrects actual players and not the board itself.

Q: How many Qi can I have?
A: As many as you can get. There is a total of 20 Qi-s in the game.

Q: How does Heavenly Winds works?
A: You can move a player or a ghost to any free spot. Now you can move the player to any village tile and you can move a ghost to any colored FREE board space. Note that you can move it to a free space where a Buddha is placed, thus it will die instantly. (if the card allows it to die).

Q: Buddha?
A: If you get a Buddha figurine then you will be able to use it your next turn. You can put it on a free space on the board that your player figurine is facing. (there are some ghost that will be not affected by Buddha!)

Q: What is the order of special powers?
A: Yellow powers must be used before movement.Blue powers, after movement.Green powers, during all your phase.Red powers : movement phase (flying) or just after moving (other red power). Note that special powers can be used every round. (mind if there is a neutral board, than the rules are not the same!)

Q: If the blue player draws a ghost card what is yellow, and manages to put it on the yellow board, but the ghost has a Left Curse witch is Loose -1Qi, then who will suffer the loss? The yellow, right?
A: No! It will affect the blue player because he is the active player.

I'm not an official Ghost Stories answer person, but I can tell you how my group plays it:

1. Yes, you can use the same tile again without moving.

2. You roll one time and allocate dice to ghosts as you wish. So in your case, if you roll 3 yellow dice you can kill either ghost but not both (unless you have two yellow tokens).

3. Yes.

Good luck!

Edit: D'oh! Too slow!
