Thread: Re: La Grande Guerre for pc

The areas are the same as the hex map if you look closely. So, according to Philippe it's basically the same game with the same engine, just with the computer doing the chores for accounting, dice rolling etc. A must-buy for me.

Thread: La Grande Guerre for pc

I guess some people might be interested to know that a pc game based on La Grande Guerre 14-18 and titled WW1: La Grande Guerre 14-18 (go figure) is being developed and is scheduled to be released on "November 11th, 11:00 AM (GMT+1), for the exact peace signature 90th anniversary of the Great War". The developer is called Ageod and the pc game is designed by Philippe Thibaut, who also designed the board game.

Here's a link for those who want to know more: http://www.ageod.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10311

Thread: LGG at WBC

I will be attempting to run the grand campaign, in it’s entirety, this summer in the open gaming section of the World Board Game Championships (the week after Historicon at the Host). I’m hoping for six players with the roles split up as follows.

Player 1: French Military
Player 2: British Military, Entente Naval Forces, and Entente Diplomacy.
Player 3: Russian Military, Entente Technologies
Player 4: German Military (western front)
Player 5: German Military (eastern front), Centrals Naval Forces, and Centrals Diplomacy
Player 6: Austro-Hungarian Military, Centrals Technologies

Players will also be responsible for the political aspects of the nation whose military they are controlling. In the case of Germany this can be either a joint process between the two players or controlled by one or the other.

These are the alignments I plan on using, but nothing is set in stone. I am open to suggestions. I will be creating various player aids in order to cut down on the volume of rules that need to be memorized, and try to keep things moving. I am also looking for someone with prior experience with the game to play as well as assist in GM duties. I have played several scenarios and played midway through 1915 of a campaign game, but this will be my first attempt at the whole Grand Campaign and I could use some help on the rules side of things. My plan for now is to start the game sometime Thursday evening and play through the weekend in an attempt to get this monster played. Since I will be setting up in the open gaming area, with the exception of lunch breaks and a few quick rests here and there, the game will be need to played basically continuously through the weekend (not overnight, obviously). With this in mind please only contact me if you are willing to commit the time and energy necessary. If you are interested in playing please contact me at Michael_Deal@umit.maine.edu. Positions will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis.

p.s In the interest of full disclosure I should let everyone know that I am a 19 year old college student, and while I hope this would not effect anyone’s decision to play the game I am aware that it may be an issue for some people.
Thread: Re: Is it nice to play with 2 persons

While the game will flow faster with 6 players, it will still work with less. However, be prepared to spend a lot of time on the first few turns as you fight the major campaigns of 1914.

Thread: Is it nice to play with 2 persons

I understand from the description that this game can played with 2 to 6 players. How good is this game however when you play it with the minimum of 2 players, as in my experience quite a bit of strategy-games turn out to be a dissapointment if you play them with only 2 players.

Thread: Re: cyberboard?

There is a cyberboard gamebox for this game at the LGG yahoo group. I made a vassal module for this game using the cyberboard gamebox. Its about 12 meg so its really too big for me to email but if someone would like to host it that would be great, of course i guess i could put it up on BGG but i don't know what the file size limit is. Anyway the vassal mod works but i'm sure a vassal expert could touch it up if anyone would be willing to take that on. The only units that its missing that i know of are the swiss I just ran out of steam and whose going to attack the swiss anyway.

Hi,

I'm working on a AAR of LGG. The grand campaign is currently ongoing, so the AAR is commonly updated every week, little by little.
The AAR is full of explicative maps and photographs. It's very detailed.
Unfortunately, it's written in Italian language only....

You will find the AAR inside my web site: http://www.pulce.tk/

I hope you will enjoy reading my AAR.

Regards,
Calvinus.
