It is very standard roll and move. I would say four to six realistically. They may want to revisit it in later years.

What would you recommend as a target age for this game?

             Sag.

Thread: User Review

Space Race (2-4 players) [5-8 years]

A relatively straight forward roll the die and move around the board game, but well designed and the theme can be used to make it educational as well as entertaining for the children. The rules come with a 'Note to parents and teachers' (see main game summary for reproduction of text).

The board is a multicoloured spiral representation of the solar system. The players start past Pluto and must race their way to the Sun to win.

The spaces are colour coded so that children you can't yet read have no problems quickly identifying what each space is or means:

Purple: Move forward (one or two spaces or to the next planet)
Green: Miss a go
Yellow: Roll again
Blue: Go back to previous planet
Red: Follow the tail of a passing comment (sometimes towards the Sun, sometimes not)
and the planets from Pluto into Mercury and the Sun in the centre to finish.

You need an exact roll to land on the Sun and with two outward bound comets within five spaces of the Sun this can sometimes require multiple passes.

As you can tell this game is hardly rocket science , however it is for young children and it is a good and interesting game for its target audience and not too taxing on the adults either.
