"Nothing in Biology Makes Sense Except in the Light of Evolution" - Theodosius Dobzhansky
There is grandeur in this view of life, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved.

My cat. His name is Jake and he likes to lay on game boards if they are on the floor (he does it every time). He is 10 years old, weighs 16 lbs, and is diabetic. We have to give him two insulin shots daily and he has to eat special food.
He is more like a dog than a cat. He hates being alone and follows us everywhere. He purrs if you look at him and rolls over on his back if you pet him. He meets us at the door when we come in the house.

Have to add mine -- my wife took this photo of Misty and me playing Monopoly in 1969. Misty, an orphan who arrived on our doorstep in a misty rain, lived to be 18 years old and adapted well to our family moves from Texas to Nebraska to Virginia to Colorado.

She has her own bits that she's allowed to knock off of the table when we play.

Another excuse to post a picture of our kitten "Meeple"!
We're training her up to roll dice for us - she can do it by knocking them off the table so far, but still doesn't understand the difference between D10s and D12s. Stupid cat.

Here is Circe, found as a little orphan in a island in the Mediterranean Sea, during summer of 2004.
Some yearg ago I did some allergy exams, and the result was that I am allergic to cats. When I took Circe to my house, I had a little cold for a week, that's all. Now we moved to my girlfriend's house, and she already lived with two other cats. Two humans and three felines under the same roof. And -luckily- no allergy at all

Here are two of mine, Andrea on the left and Franz looking over his shoulder on the right. They are very careful about my games, and even when they walk across a game in play, they never disturb any bits.
I've trained them well.

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
There's just one kind of favor I'll ask for you - you can see that my grave is kept clean

Our cat: Talisker (Tally). Rarely seen anywhere other than on our bed. Although I happen to know she is working on a top secret time machine project to allow her to sleep for more than 24 hours each day. (That noise isn't purring, it's drilling!)
