This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty, but as always, add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.
The Thrift Store/Bargain Finds List Wayback Machine: The Grand Vizier is maintaining a list of all the weekly lists through time. He is also adding stats and interesting tidbits for us thrifty geeks. Your Thrift Store Bargain Finds Through Time (with links to all previous lists)
Our GeekGuild: Welcome to The Ancient and Loyal Order of Thrifters. Enter the halls of thriftdom at your own risk. Please do mind the stacks of prized games, do not mention the musty smell and try not to sneeze. Make sure to bow before our King Hakfoo I, and pay your due respects to previous Kings Belial, Great_Mazinga, minionhunter, Krazygit, EvilTimmy and Blackwind.
The Order's Anthem: Sing along with our good old thrifty theme song...
Found this on the way home from work today, this store puts all their games on a shelf above head level so I saw it from the store entrance. 1st find of this for me and its almost complete. Only missing the standard D6 and two hotel entrances. .54 as it was a half off sale today.
$1 Goodwill. SPI edition. Many markers unpunched. Others included in little trays. Includes a "Fire & Movement" magazine, an early 1980's "Wargamers West" catalog and other advertising inserts - but no maps? Doh!
Otherwise the shelves were bare. They didn't even have a single Trivial Pursuit or Scene-It. Although my husband has a special fascination with the battle of Gettysburg and enjoys war games, I suspect this will end up on the trade/sell pile.
