This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty but as always: add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad™, the Tape Monkeys™, and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.
The Weekly Thrift List Wayback Machine The Grand Vizier is maintaining a list of all the weekly thrift lists through time, and will be adding stats and interesting tidbits for each week. Your Thrift Store Bargain Finds Through Time

I hit a new thrifting low (literally) with this purchase. Things have been dry for me for a while now, so I was pleased to see Set for a couple of dollars, especially since I found it in a non-game part of the thrift store. I stacked it on my other two purchases from this outing and went to the cash register. As I was placing my games on the counter, Set slid off the top of my stack and hit the floor, open, and scattered -- under the counter.
Have you ever gotten on your belly on the floor of an AmVets and rooted around under the counter? I have. I don't think I will ever feel clean again. At least the game was still complete when I bought it, and it was a weekend visit, not after work, so I wasn't in my suit. Still, yuck.
To top of my afternoon, later that day as I was leaving GW I saw in their display case a black box that said "ECLIPSE." I got really excited for the half-second before I realized that it was a brand of stereo amplifier.
Lately I have been leaving abstracts behind because my wife and I don't often play them. But how could I pass up all of those wooden pieces, especially covered in gravy? I am surprised that this game does not have more ratings and am looking forward to trying it.
Ligretto Dice $7.00 (50% off $14)at Barnes and Noble
Later, my wife, kids and I met my mom and sister at Barnes and Noble. My sister and mom greet us there with a stack of games, saying, these all were on 50% clearance, so they went through and picked out ones they thought I would want, so that they wouldn't get picked up by someone else before we got there. Good picks, some that I had already, such as Hive, but I did get a couple of their selections, such as Ligretto Dice, which we thought would be a good one for the kids.
