This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
Yay, my first ever GeekList!
These lists may start empty but as always, add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad™, the Tape Monkeys™, and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.
The Weekly Thrift List Wayback Machine The Grand Vizier is maintaining a list of all the weekly thrift lists through time, and will be adding stats and interesting tidbits for each week. Your Thrift Store Bargain Finds Through Time

super dry thrifting lately, but ran across this for 5 bucks today. Like new condition for the board and discs, but the box has seen better days - not the prettiest board, but should tide me over while I save up for my tournament board.
I've been looking for a cheap-o board to play while I'm saving up, but every one I found was either really, really banged up, missing pegs, no discs (this is actually the first one I found with discs), etc.
I can't wait to finish work so I can bust this out over a few beers with my brother.
In great shape but missing the rules. Only $1.99 at GW. I balked on a 1971 Parker Brothers Landslide. It also was $1.99 but looked kind of dull so I left it behind with an On Assignment with National Geographic which had about a billion cards and really looked tedious.
After bemoaning my inability to find a replacement for the missing (smaller) black marble to my previous thrift of this game, I have been scouring every bag and jar of marbles I find, hoping that one will be the right size even if it's not the right color.
I had to drop my son's bike off at the shop to get tuned up for some serious riding and had just enough time to swing into St. Vincent before I picked him up from work. Go through the games, same old, same old, shelf after shelf. Through the puzzles, nada. Down by the miscellaneous junk end nothing, nothing, nothing, abalone, noth...WHAT!?!
I snatch it off the shelf, looks like the same one I have. Excellent! Chances are it's missing half the marbles but so long as it has even 1 black one. I open it up - COMPLETE!! Yes!!!!!!
$2.99 - 25% "senior" discount = $2.68. Happy dance... and guess I can change my WANT to HAVE on the spare parts list.
