This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty but as always: add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid, and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift-store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad™, the Tape Monkeys™, and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.
The Weekly Thrift List Wayback Machine The Grand Vizier is maintaining a list of all the weekly thrift lists through time, and will be adding stats and interesting tidbits for each week. Your Thrift Store Bargain Finds Through Time
Our GeekGuild The Ancient and Loyal Order of Thrifters Enter the halls of thriftdom at your own risk. Do mind the stacks of prized games. Don't mention the musty smell and try not to sneeze. I got it for the wooden miceeples and the cute die. I've been leaving behind most things, especially larger ones. I saw a Mahjongg set in ImaginaryRoot's territory; I called him and told him about it in case he was interested.
Walked over to the new 99 cent store that just opened up by my house, because my mom told me I could get cheap shipping supplies there. Before going to the supplies, I took a detour to the toy and game aisle to see what they had, and was surprised to find two things!
I noticed the Mayfair Games logo on this and picked up a copy, in shrink! And there's 5 or 6 copies still there! Think it's worth picking up the rest for sale or trade?
This is the fourth copy I've found of this game. From the four copies, I have three complete copies. This one was $1.70 from SVdP. The outside box is not pretty, but inside all the parts are neatly bagged up, including the two dice.
My husband has a client who runs an eBay business. We're going to let the client sell two of the Great Capers and see what we get for them.
Then I grabbed this one. I already have a copy, but it was the right color tag for this week at GW, so instead of $1.49 it was a sweet $.75. I'll probably gift it to my sister to play with her daughters. They could use a little more nonsense in their lives.
