This was my favorite discovery of the Con, I was just wandering the halls looking getting my bearings and I noticed the play test room and happened to catch a session of Damage Report.

This is a real time co-op game. The scenario we were running was the star ship was under attack and damaged. We needed to either repair the hyper drive and jump to safety or blast them out of space. The variable timing of turn length depending on life support and the flow from frantic action when life support was 100% to the slow planned optimized response when life support was low worked really well.

Now I just need to wait for the kick starter to begin.....

A large portion of my time was spent running demos of Atlantis. I now have a personal copy and am looking forward to cranking up the difficulty and seeing how it goes. I expect Atlantis to sink many times. A tough worker placement Co-Op was right up my alley.

The other game demo I was teaching. This is a nice back stabby goodness negotiation game. Semi-Coop with an open traitor that shifts. I really liked the game. Watching the different negotiation tactics and approaches was fascinating. While this isn't a game for everyone for the people who can play diplomacy and still be friends after it should really check it out. The theme combined with the negotiating, time pressure and a bit of luck really enhanced the game. I think I would need more time with the three player game to decide if I like it or not the 4 player was a blast.

I played a few rounds of this and really enjoyed it despite losing each time. The runaway leader mechanism is a bit frustrating but it really drives you to fight over hands that should really be let go. The artwork and theme were OK not great in my opinion but the game play more than made up for the short comings.

Meh, I really wanted to like this one, the art was good the concept was interesting but the game play just didn't do anything for me. Maybe it was late, maybe it was just a bad shuffle, I will have to try it again before I write it off completely.

I caught the tail end of this, and it has some of the weakness of Apples to Apples but everyone is laughing so hard who cares if your card is picked or not. As a late night party game it was just what the doctor ordered.

Good to the last drop: ....

I hadn't played this map before so figuring out optimal routes was a bit more of a challenge but it convinced me I should pick up a map pack. I think our Shadowrun side conversation may have annoyed one of the players but what is a social game for if not to enjoy the game and the conversation?

Worker placement, D&D theme, good flavor text, yes please. Finished at the bottom of the pack but had a great time doing it. I tried a intrigue based strategy but couldn't make it work. I need play this again... soon.

Not ready to let the Con end my seat mates on the plane home broke this out and we had a good time learning the rules and getting a feel for the game. Plenty of luck and simple rules but still a fun game. I really enjoyed the artwork and the multiple paths to victory. I never felt out of the game even when we got runs of cards or the dice were against me. I may have to pick up a copy or find someone who has one.

Other non board game activities.

True Dungeon - Checked out the free area and if I go again will not procrastinate on getting in on a session. It looks like a great time in spite of the cost.

Cosplay - Tons of great costumes, I really enjoyed the steam punk glasses and fire arms. I may have to give it a try with something low key talking to cosplayers it sounds like they have a blast.

D&D Next - Talked to a couple of GM's running it and they are very excited.... more so than they were for 4th, adding the open beta to my list of things to check out.

Dealer Hall - Even though I spent a large part of my time here I didn't really get to explore as much as I would like. Even so it was great.

Cards vs Zombies - Watching the game was fun but I don't think I would enjoy having to watch my back while just enjoying the rest of the Con

Christian Gamers Guild - Sunday morning service with a Hitch Hikers Galaxy cross over. "So long and thanks for all the fish" will stick with me.

Balloon Dragon -- Wow

CCG towers -- The space needle was probably my favorite but what people were building with cards was impressive.

Dice Tower Dinner -- Good conversation good food

I am going into the map... I don't know what it is about large scale games but I really enjoy them. The hall was closing so didn't get to play this one but still fun.
Along with the giant shear panic.
