Abstract games (zero sum perfect information ones) featuring elephants.
The list is open to contribution and was spurred by the game Barca, which I discovered on kick starter.
You can support the game at:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1623063515/barca-the-wat...

It also happens that Arimaa and Xian Qi, two of my favorite favourite games, feature this animal.

The game that spurred the list. Here the elephant is the stronger piece. Strangely enough the mouse seems to be stronger than the lion.

A fantastic game. Here the elephant is fundamental, because it can not be captured by the opponent unless we knowingly move it on a trap. It is the piece that give the game stability, by blocking most tactical captures. The beauty of arimaa is due to the prevalence of strategy over tactics and I would attribute most merits to the elephant.

Or elephant chess :-) Here I would argue that the elephant is one of the weakest pieces.

I own it, but I never played. For sure the pieces are beautiful, but I don'tknow if the game play justifies the hefty price tag.

There's a die roll in this game. Does that exclude it from the "perfect information" requirement?

I've seen chess sets that use elephants (sometimes with towers on their backs) as rooks. Does that count?

Up to the 16th century, Shogi (this is its ancient variant) had a piece called "drunk elephant". It was suppressed by Emperor Go-Nara, offended that such a piece could be promoted to King.

Chatrang, or Shatranj, is a Chatuiranga evolution: The connection between Chaturanga and chess. It keeps the elephant (third piece from the front - where the bishop of chess would be) and it drops the die, so it's abstract.

Though not really abstract--in that it has a non-regular map, the perfect information games does include elephants--which can carry two soldiers into battle.
