This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty, but as always, add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.
The Thrift Store/Bargain Finds List Wayback Machine: The Grand Vizier is maintaining a list of all the weekly lists through time. He is also adding stats and interesting tidbits for us thrifty geeks. Your Thrift Store Bargain Finds Through Time (with links to all previous lists)
Our GeekGuild: Welcome to The Ancient and Loyal Order of Thrifters. Enter the halls of thriftdom at your own risk. Please do mind the stacks of prized games, do not mention the musty smell and try not to sneeze. Make sure to bow before our King Hakfoo I, and pay your due respects to previous Kings Belial, Great_Mazinga, minionhunter, Krazygit, EvilTimmy and Blackwind.

Went on a road trip with my husband for the weekend and checked out the Value Village in Fredericton. Found this! $4.51 total. Missing the brown start player and five black rails. Includes the expansion and that is complete.
$1.99 Savers. In the hanging bags! I always check those, but rarely have any luck! This was out of the original package, but I just knew it looked familiar. Can it be? It is! Complete, too! The wee lid keeps pieces in place for an interrupted game.
Interestingly, I received Pylos in the mail (from a math trade) just before I left. So, it was a spherical kinda day!
Took the kids on a thrift run today and didn't pick up a single game. However, at our last stop (Savers on Ft Lowell), while looking at kids books my 6-year old grabs this off the bottom shelf. "Look daddy, Descent." He apparently recognized the art from the huge box in the garage. I was planning to sell/trade the game so I bought this for $1 figuring I'd just toss it in the box to add some extra value. Got home and looked it up -- a few have sold recently for around $50. That's m'boy.
I had a return, a copy of Chess4 that was missing entirely too many pieces, so I headed out for one more run on this, my week of vacation thrifting. I didn't find anything I wanted so I took my credit and moved on. Sunday afternoons are not great, and everything was pretty picked over, but found this at Savers.
$1.99 Mostly complete. This is my fourth copy, including a very incomplete one saved from the bottom of a huge bin at the by-the-pound outlet. We are ramping up for an epic laser battle. Queue the wee hamsters!
Surprised and happy to find this on the shelf at GW. I saw this one almost immediately because of the quality/colors of the box art. Garage sale sticker for $5 but came with a GW discount for $3.99.
EDIT: Yesterday I had the biggest find since I started thrifting last November. I am still going through what I found and will post on next weeks list. I am almost 100% sure that wargamers will like what I found.
