This is the unofficial Games for Geekgold October 2012.
Sol is not back till November, but he will have his new improved version of the epic tool that will improve how g4gg is managed. And sometime soon the awesome new BGG site will appear

And Billy Bragg the world's best singer songwriter is visiting New Zealand on the 18th

So while we wait for the great leap forwards - list items and spend geekgold often

This is ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK and will use the 'good chap' code:
- We're all good chaps, so behave
- We're friendly, honest and err on the side of being good to each other
- If we make mistakes we own up, apologise and make good as far as possible
- We treat others as we'd want to be treated
- We're here to play boardgames and have spiffing fun and this lottery is just another way of extending this fun by getting more excellent games to fabulous people

That is there will be little or no supervision of drawing rules In November with the return of Sol there will be a return to law and order. But if you have nay questions or issues - let me know!!!

These are the guideline-ettes

Who can participate?

You can!

How to bid for an item?
If you see an item on this geeklist that you're interested in owning tip that entry and you are entered to win that game.

Withdrawals
If for some reason a user withdraws an item from the lottery they are expected to return all .
It is not expected that items will be withdrawn. But just be a good chap.

Lottery items
If you put up an item you are expected to make the drawing as transparent as possible, with as much verification as possible
Keep the entering for items as simple as possible!!! (ie I'd recommend not using wacky pi based square root and other bonus systems as you have to run them and they should be transparent).
edit Please try not to add substantial new items to a lottery item after a few days of listing without checking with me first. Some people invest much or all of their limited if they perceive they have a reasonable chance of winning. Dilution while good for you may be unfair for bidders. Above all be a good chap and think about it as if if you were bidding on it, had entered early and had little to put in.

How to put an item on the lottery?
If you have a game or relevant item you want to list for bag

1. Post it as an item on this list.
2. Include a full description of the thing or edition edition that you have and its condition.
3. Specify if you will be limited in shipping options. If you ship internationally, if the shipping is on you, or if you’re willing to contribute to shipping
4. Specify when your item will close for entries (by 31 October).
5. You can post Board Games, Video Games, RPGs, and related items. You cannot make a lottery for Geekgold or something completely unrelated the main entry, although these types of item can be added as bonus or as second winners. You can put gift cards as long as it is for an store related with the domains (i.e. no gift card to a convenience or department store allowed, but one for steam, funagain, drivethru rpg, etc can be raffled).
6. Always link to the correct item on the database. So if you are auctioning the Video Game version of Puerto Rico link to Puerto Rico and not to Puerto Rico.
7. To guarantee that the item will appear on the subscription page, allow for at least 1 week between listing and drawing.
8. Miscellaneous game entries, like FIMO miniatures, pimp items, etc should be added using Miscellaneous Game Accessory, Miscellaneous Miniatures Game Accessory or Miscellaneous Card Game Accessory as appropriate.
9. Don't update more than once a day!
If you are in some way connected with the item in question, either as a publisher or as a designer, declare it!

What do you do when the lottery ends?
By the last day of the month OR the day you nominated you are expected to draw the item. THEY MUST BE DRAWN WITHIN 5 days of the end of the month or it is expected that you will return all geekgold.
1. Randomly draw to select an winner. Do check out Jeromier's Awesome Tool
2. Contact that person and arrange shipment of the game.
3. Send them the game.
4. Edit your geeklist item on this list with a note saying that "THIS ITEM IS CLOSED!" and to put the avatar of the winner, use the code [ username=name_of_winner] (without the space) for that.
PLEASE DON'T PASTE THE FULL LIST OF ENTRIES... We tried that in August. It didn't help and made scrolling awful.

5. When an item is closed don't delete it.

Can I tip back people who tipped me?

Yes, you can use the GeekGold any user tipped you to tip on one of his items for lottery, but with discretion.

These were made to fit nicely on the Ancient Ones cards to track when it wakes up in the base game of Arkham Horror. I used some glow in the dark fimo on bits of 5 of them, just for a little outer world touch.

Decktetathon!!

This auction is for a bunch of Decktet related stuff.

Firstly, there are two, Mayday Dark Green-sleeved, Game Crafter decks of the lattice backed "Double Decktet," where one of the decks has a decorative mark by the suit symbols for easy sorting once you've finished playing. I believe I've played a couple of solitaire games with each deck.

Additionally, there are 10 each of sticker-labeled plastic chips (I want to say they're 1 1/4") of each of the suits, as well as a D6 die with suit-stickered faces. Pretty much unused.

I'll also be including 4 D10 Changeling: the Lost Dice because some of the games make use of those, and Lord knows I have enough D10's otherwise.

Oh, and a lovely storage box to contain it all:

Oh, yeah. And because it won't do me much good without the decks, I'll also be including a once-read, Lulu softcover Revised and Expanded Decktet Book for more games than you'll probably end up playing.

I really enjoy finding something unique and interesting for the G4GG's, and I was hoping to get something really gamer geeky and cool, a potato chip hand for those that love to eat and game at the same time, but don't want chippy fingers. But it's sold out everywhere (Tokyu Hands, Loft etc), and I tried getting a cup clip, but that's also sold out (I bought one a few months ago and it's such a simple concept but such a Great gamer's accessory...usable with most tables ...doh!)

So I've decided to offer up my last sealed copy of Greedy Kingdoms & the Treasures expansion & the promo card from 2011 which I was collecting for myself cry, but I thought why not share the love. This is one great little card game by a Japanese designer.

So for this month's item, the lucky winner will get:
1. Greedy Kingdoms & Promo card (Eng & Jpn text/still in shrink)
2. Greedy Kingdoms Treasure expansion (Eng & Jpn text/still in shrink)
3. Mini mystery package - weird things/interesting things/geeky things/snack things
4. a cute drawing

Thank you everyone for a great g4gg auction!!!

PasticheAND Biblios (Still in Shrink!!!)

I purchased the game about three months ago because I think it is awesome. My wife is a painter and I have lectured on a few paintings in the game but apparently this is not enough. Unfortunately, no one in my group wants to play it (especially while we are enjoying Risk Legacy), and my primary game-friend, my wife, would rather play Carcassonne. I believe that games are part of the good life, and they should be played, not stored. So I hope someone has a great time with this cool game.

EDIT: Game has been set up but not played. Everything is in mint condition. I just fetched the game to verify the edition (International Edition). In doing so I noticed that the top of the game box has a thin, shallow four-inch cut. It looks like it was made with a box cutter. I am surprised I did not notice it before as I would have returned the game to Amazon. Well I noticed it now and am making it known. Game contents are pristine.

The Big Goal: UNLOCKED

This G4GG lottery is now for both games, Pastiche AND Biblios! MUTATIS MUTANDIS

If 1000 is reached, I will include a mint copy (still in shrink) of Steve Finn's recent printing of Biblios.

Please ask any questions you may have. Thanks! And good luck!!

Shipping:

I will only ship within the US (sorry everyone else!). I will pay for shipping via USPS.

October 31st around 6pm EST with Jeromier's Tool

Update: I am in Connecticut. If we get wallopped by Sandy and lose power through the 31st (Like last year!), I will run the drawing as soon as power is restored.

Update 10/29 @ 9:35am: Winds are picking up here and all reports say we will get hammered by this storm. We are far from the shore in Connecticut so we are not worried about the storm surge; however, we do expect to lose power. If I go silent through the 31st, it is because we are without power. Stay safe everyone!

Update 10/31 @ 4:35am: power back on! See you tonight!!

This is for a surprise item from this year's

Since many of you won't get the chance to attend the show, I will send one lucky winner something from the Spiel 2012. This will be one or more item(s) of my choice from the variety of promos and goodies offered at the fair.

What to expect?
If you win this, I will take a look at your collection to try and find something that you can actually use. Of course, I will also take into account any wishes you may have and see what I can get my hands on. But I won't make any promises - especially for things like autographed items. I may spend a few Euros to get something for you but I most certainly won't buy a 50 EUR game just to get a promo for you. Also there is a maximum size (32 x 23 x 3,5 cm³) and weight (390 g) of the item(s) you will get. If you still have absolutely no idea of what I am offering here, take a look at the Essen Spiel 2012 specials, freebies, promos and other giveaways list (or at those of 2011, 2010 or 2009).

The Spiel will begin on October 18th, so this item will close on October 14th.

For 1 you will get 1 entry, I will use a GeekRoll to determine the winner.

Update (2012-09-28): This seems to go well, so at 400 I will draw a second winner to receive some goodies from Spiel 2012!

And of course everything comes with free worldwide shipping, I forgot to mention that before.

Good luck!

This item is for the expansion
The Giant Squid
for Survive: Escape from Atlantis!

Condition: Brand new, still in shrink.

Shipping: Free Worldwide Shipping! I will send this via whale or squid, with an awe inspiring mailman hat. You pick it! Impress your neighbors! If you're not confortable with their delivery skills, I will send it via regular, plain mail, but you will be missing the awesomeness of a bike riding, mail delivering whale. Picture that!
