This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty, but as always, add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.
Our GeekGuild: Welcome to The Ancient and Loyal Order of Thrifters. Enter the halls of thriftdom at your own risk. Please do mind the stacks of prized games, do not mention the musty smell and try not to sneeze. Make sure to bow before our King Hakfoo I, and pay your due respects to previous Kings Belial, Great_Mazinga, minionhunter, Krazygit, EvilTimmy and Blackwind.

I always find myself buying any MTG cards that I come across. I found a deck builder's toolkit box with a wide assortment of cards for $2.99 at GW. I just started to check but I have found cards from alpha (1 so far) to M13 sets. I still have no idea what all this means.
I love the pieces for this game and my nieces love the game. Dilemma...let them take it home to have a copy at home (they play the one at my house a lot) or cannibalize for parts. Let's see how well they behave tomorrow. $1.08 at Eco-Thrift.
Some lady shoved me out of the way to look at some bins. I really dislike her. Next time I'm there and she is there and the bins come out. I'm going to try and hog up the path to piss her off.
I managed to have a look at my FLGS's sale today and grabbed a ding & dent copy of Ora et Labora in shrink for AU$ 10. There is a crease along one side of the front cover, but otherwise it looks fine. At less than 1/7 of the cheapest retail price I've seen so far, I can live with that crease
Went to 2 new thrift stores today and 1 new GW. One thrift store was huge and had a ton of toys and games strung out all over the place. Had fun digging but didn't find much. Found this one for $2. I've been looking for a decent one to play with my youngest (5) and this one was in decent shape with all of the pieces. We played it when I got home and she had a blast. Love playing games with her.
I also found a Risk there but I passed on it. I have one that I don't even play now and I'm not interested in collecting bits at the moment.
Hit 5 places today and struck out on all of them. Ah well.
Then I went to a really hard to find Tuesday Morning whose game shelves were overflowing...but no Portobello Market. But if anyone in Sioux Falls is looking for Ilium or Livingstone, they had one copy of each, hidden behind other games on the top shelf.
Last stop was Nu2You, found a complete copy of this fun kid's game for $1.50.
I don't know if it's just because it's been a long time since I've legitimately thrifted a board game, but I bit on this, even though it was $3.99 at the goodwill. Which is above my unofficial limit of $2.99 for a game (obviously exceptions would vary, if I found a nice euro or Space Hulk or whatever in good condition I'd probably go much higher than $2.99). But I walked out the door, and was happy. It was new, never been opened.
Anyway, got it home and my wife made me stop playing because I was derelict in my duties. Fun game.
