I don't know why, but penguins seem to show up alot in board games. They seem to have been appearing almost steadily every year since 1995... Is this some sort of Illuminati plot?
Don't overlook genetically altered bioborg penguins! Squawwk looks like a threat to me. Remember, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.
There is indeed a Penguin varaint for Tears of the Dragon. I shed tears myself when I read it at the Avalanche Press website.
My first even encounter with penguins in a game was probabably in Dungeons and Dragons, in a module that came out in the late 70's or early 80's... I think it might have been Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarrl (althoug I'm not sure about this). There was a Wandering Monster table for random encounters, and one of them was a group of Dire Penguins with 5 hit dice. I loved it... no description of what a dire penguin actually was... it was pretty much self- explanitory!!
