This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty but as always: add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid, and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift-store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad™, the Tape Monkeys™, and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.

the box makes no mention of the river expansion, but its definitely included.
$1.99 at gw.
on a sadder note, i saw a copy of Fortress America on the counter at the gw closest to my house. at first i was disappointed b/c someone was standing right in front of it as if they were waiting to check out. turns out it they werent trying to buy it. but then i saw that it was marked $49.99. yowz. too bad.
my neices and nephews should like playing this when they come over...
$0.75 at DI
Today DID turn tragic unfortunately. I realized while at this DI and going for my phone to check a price that it wasn't on me..I searched all over and eventually re-traced my drive to work...oh there it is! on the freeway...in a bajillion pieces......damn.
I confess. I've never played Diplomacy. But I've heard it talked about here, and when I saw the big box and "Avalon Hill" (and Hasbro) on it, I knew without knowing that I had to buy it. I have to inventory it yet to be sure it's complete. But, having read about the game, if it's complete I think I will try to sell / trade it. It just looks like too much game and I can't see ever getting 6-7 people together to play it properly. 2.99 GW. Heavy box.
$4.99 Thrift Town, Salt Lake City, Utah. This was a mighty crowded store with narrow aisles. The checker was a little interesting, too. She said, "This is $4.99" as she rung it up and repeated this with another item I purchased.
Missing the longest route card, but otherwise complete and in great shape.
Went to a gaming thingy I've never heard of with a bunch of folks I've never met (go figure). It was pretty good; lots of communal games to play or you could bring your own. Around 3 they let folks start selling some of their stuff, so I went and checked it out. First up was the gamette version of this for $5. Played, but in great shape.
Found the 3M version for 25 cents at a garage sale in Beavercreek. Has 21 red tokens, but only 19 green and 19 white. Is it normal for slight variances in counts or should there be exactly 20 of each color?
